Nov 18th 2007 11:22PM In a pinch bus travel can be affordable and give people an opportunity to go somewhere they could not otherwise afford to travel. In my experience as an undergrad in Wisconsin a couple summers ago I was able to visit a lot of friends in the southwest and Pacific coast on the cheap because of Greyhound. Granted it was a long trip, but for those of us with more time than money the bus is another travel option. And take a look around--you might just meet someone interesting. Yeah, there are a few recently released fellons and some shady stops along the way, but that's life. I'd rather fly, but if it's a choice between not going or going Greyhound, I'm taking the bus.
