Church Criticism of Obama Invite Grows (Politics Daily)

Apr 2nd 2009 6:35AM Joanie10:19PMApr 1st 2009
Obama is the wrong type of guy to address a commencement at a catholic university. What was the staff at Notre Dame thinking??? This guy is a thug to many traditional and core beliefs. I truly have to shake my head!

WHAT traditional and core beliefs are your talking about? I'm not catholic. My Tradition is in freedom of speech and freedom of choice as guaranteed by the constitution. I do not believe in God and I pity the people that still cling to the sorry practice of hoping that the invisible man is taking care of everyone. But the constitution protects me from being forced to believe otherwise. OBAMA stands for the constitution and reminds us that we live in a country where we don't have to believe the same ting and that we don't have to agree. But that we must respect ALL viewpoints, including those we do not hold to be our own. The reason you don't get that is obvious, since you think your 'traditional and core beliefs' are everyone's and the same. They are not. Wake up!

Illinois Rep. Shimkus (R) Reads Bible at House Hearing to Prove Global Warming Doesn't Exist (Politics Daily)

Mar 30th 2009 5:41PM The 'experts' who say Global warming is increasing rapidly do not deny that it is a naturally occurring event. However, those experts have pointed out repeatedly, with concrete evidence, that the naturally occurring cycle is happening several thousands of times faster than normal. They are not saying it is completely 100% manmade. The sad thing is, Bible munching morons like this man from Illinois think that because it's not 100% manmade that we should be doing nothing about it. If we follow the idiots who have 'trumped up' global warming like Al Gore, if we do everything that they suggest, not only will we have a new way of life based on energy efficient homes and vehicles, but our land, air and water might just be clean, plantable, breathable, and drinkable again. My god, that is truly a horrid vision, isn't? Put the bibles away, and start cleaning up the trash in Illinois!

'White People With Blue Eyes' Caused Economic Crisis? (News Campus Blog)

Mar 29th 2009 10:16AM I find it frightening that the sheer volume of complaints to this post liken Mr. Silva's comments to anti-semitism and/or racism. The fact of the matter, white people have been the dominant race on this planet, subjegating most of Europe, the Americas, and Africa. While over simplified, Mr. da Silva, speaks the truth. And it is not reverse racism to say it. Until White people can stand up and say, "yes, in the past, those of my race have caused the destruction of entire cultures, and yes, our one sided view of the world (them against us - proven by all the posts decrying Mr. da Silva's comments) and yes, (the old favorite retaliation) 'if you don't like America, leave' is pretty stupid and I'm an idiot for saying it, we will not see much progress in the path of fairness and equality on this planet. The fact that most American's prize their dvr's and cell phones more than the wildlife being killed off daily in their own states, proves Mr. da Silva's point. Being White or being American does not make you right. It makes you White and American. In conclusion, what Mr. da Silva was saying and is 100 accurate: "The experts have been in charge for the last 30 years, making decisions about the global economy. Experts include past Presidents of this nation, all male, all white. The global economy is in the toilet, because of these 'experts', the CEO's of major world corporations. (Probably male, and most likely white). Why on earth would we turn to these experts now? Because the people they are 'experting' to, are dumber than most of the people on this website!

GOP Declares 'The Pelosi Recession' (Politics Daily)

Mar 24th 2009 8:18AM lolabull6:32PMMar 23rd 2009
I can agree that both parties are at fault for the econmic issues we are facing.....but I can't stand left-wing, ass-lessions like Bawnie and San Fran Nan.... so I blame them more. REALLY: while the facts on record support the economists who have clearly stated the Republican agenda, begun in 1950, to dismantle regulatory controls put in place after the First great depression, continuing with Ronald Reagans now famous take down of Banking oversight, to Bush Sr. continued policies of 'smaller government' which was code for "get gov't hands out of business and put more profit in business owner's hands,' to the now famous Clinton signature ending the very regulations that allowed the housing and bank bubble to build and ultimately burst (A signature that was forced because he historically lacked veto-override protection in Congress). So, yeah, if you ignore the facts, it must be Pelosi's fault. What's scarier is that you display the perfect same mindless opinions of most of the Republican party. If one person can point a finger and make up a scarey rumor, you all parrot it without delay.

Obama Overturns Stem-Cell Ban: Is it War on Religion? (Politics Daily)

Mar 9th 2009 10:17AM The answer to the question "is it a war on religion?" is very easily answered. First: practitioners of religion (for hopefully the last time in history) are finally being forced to accept the fact that they believe, but not everyone does. We are not required to be religious and for too long, practitioners of religion have forced people to believe or die. Jews, Islamists and Christians have all held their crusades ending in the deaths of so called non-believers. Secondly: if practitioners of religion kept their beliefs to themselves, and did not participate in things which were against their religion, there would be no so called 'war' on religion in the first place. IF you don't want to be divorced, don't get a divorce, but don't use your religion to force 'no divorce' into the law for the rest of us. IF you don't need the benefits of stem cell research and are opposed on religious grounds, then fine, don't allow your doctor to administer anything learned from it. But don't use your bully pulpits on Sunday to criminalize research that for other people is not. And thirdly: do not misinterpret 2500 year old writings by applying them to a modern context in which they were NEVER intended. Every reference, ever sentence in the bible is a direct statement on supposed 'historic' events to which they applied. It would be like using Reagan's biography from 15 years ago to dictate political and public policy 2000 years from now. It is illogical, in-human, childish, and frankly as scary now as ever. If there truly is a war on religion I can only imagine that when it's over the world will be a better place, because religion will ultimately lose the war. Perhaps then humans will no longer use the boogie-man and the threat of 'hell' to try and over-power their neighbors. Especially, when their 'good book' says something about do unto others as you would have them do to you.

Eric Holder Calls US a 'Nation of Cowards' (Politics Daily)

Feb 19th 2009 10:23AM I love that you defend column '3' by going back 2 years only. "to when Obama began his run for office.' The United States is a nation of cowards, and starting in and since the 1940's when White flight began, the vast majority of the Nations cities are ghost towns because Whites would not live next door to blacks. You myopically do not recall that sit ins to fight segregation occurred as late as the 1970s in Boston, and black man are still being dragged to their deaths in Texas, and several US cities (where unarmed black men are shot, because they are pulling their hands out of their pockets to raise their hands, as the police had just told them). Average white Americans get riled when accused of being racists, but the very tenor of their complaints against blacks, hispanics, and Gay people, and the voracity (and speed) with which they raise their complaints, make me believe Holder is correct. A semi-black President is only the beginning for this country. When I see our cities being rebuilt by multi racial groups and not just rich, jewish land developers, I'll believe we are no longer racist and very proud Americans. The fact that it's an issue to be debated is about enough proof we've a long way to go!

A Little Nervous, Big O? (News Campus Blog)

Jan 22nd 2009 7:20AM I would agree with the posters who suggest you get your facts straight. I have watched the video 16 times already. Roberts paused. He stopped speaking. When delivering an oath for someone to take, you continue speaking until the designated stopping point. ROBERTS Stopped speaking after "I, Barack Hussein Obama." Even a pregnant bride at her wedding would have started speaking. Roberts should have allowed him to continue. Then finish the sentence. "Faithfully", if you read your own copy of the Constitution, you will find that 'Faithfully" does not come at the end of the sentence as ROBERTS stated it. The entire thing was fumbled, first by ROBERTS, and then by OBAMA who was clearly thinking 'do I repeat what this fool is saying (Which i know is not correct) or do I correct him on international television.' ROBERTS owns this gaffe and should have publically apologized to the nation. However, note the irony of him having been appointed by the poster child for illiterate and bumbling public figures: George Bush, Jr.

Obama Oath Flub Wasn't Chief Justice John Roberts' Fault (Politics Daily)

After all the fuss, President Obama isn't the first Afro-American President. Does everyone conveniently forget that he is bi-racial? IF BEING HALF BLACK WAS ENOUGH TO GET ONE ARRESTED FOR MISCEGENATION for the better part of the 19th century into the 20th, then it should be enough to call this man Afro-American. Methinks the lady doth protest too much. WHat your and the many other bloggers can't seem to stand about this man is the fact that he's college educated, unbelievably well spoken. Something most Americans are not.

Time Running Out for Converter Box Coupons (Switched)

Dec 29th 2008 9:19PM I have not watched broadcast TV since 1988. No one needs TV. Other than the weather (which is more accurate if you learn how to feel the pressure change before and after storms, right outside your own door), there is virtually nothing one can learn from the NEWS. Reality TV sucks, and there are about 10 million books that one could not possibly read in own's lifetime. ALSO: Your TV viewing can be monitored by the convertor boxes that are forcibly being supplied to the entire country. Anything sending a digital signal can be tracked. 1984 and Faranheit 451 are coming true, albeit a few decades later than predicted. Screw the boxes and turn your TV off.
