Judge to Mom: 'You Don't Spank Children' (ParentDish)
Jun 21st 2011 1:55PM When a child has red marks from being spanked, it's abuse. Those red marks note injury and thus impact of spanking too hard. As a parent of a productive and successful 17 year old, I not once spanked or hit my child as a means of discipline.
CPSC study confirms homeowner's worst fears about Chinese drywall (WalletPop)
Nov 28th 2009 5:06PM You know something is wrong when it's cheaper to ship material over to China for them to assemble products and then ship the products back to the US for consumer resale than it is to make the same product here.
Cat Earns Soccer Goalie a Penalty (Pawnation OLD)
Nov 27th 2009 5:09PM How a hidden aspect hides in plain sight. The cat was also a safety hazard to everyone on the field as well. an immediate time out would have been more proper. Kudos to the kind hearted player. The ref should re-think the penalty considering the safety issue on behalf of the players.
Grown-up Reporter Dunks on Little Lad and Makes Him Cry (ParentDish)
Nov 16th 2009 8:15AM Oh geeze, people. This is harmless. I used to do this to my own kid...LOL. And if he started crying, dad and I would pretend to cry and it'd crack him up into a hardy laugh.
EMT Posts Murder Victim Photo on Facebook, Gets Fired (Switched)
May 22nd 2009 1:05PM People take pictures of murder victims and other dead and dying people all the time and many get posted on web sites. As insensitive as it may seem, if posted on the right web sites can teach and help medics, police, doctors, pathologists, etc. and students of these professions keep their knowledge and thinking up to date. I don't think the EMT should have been fired. The skills of an EMT are worth much more than satisfying the rationary outcry behind a photograph. It's not like the person was dying and he decided to take a picture before doing his job.
Teen Commits Suicide -- Is Sexting to Blame? (Lemondrop)
Mar 13th 2009 9:38AM As long as we live in a society that views nakedness and sex as dirty and shameful, this will continue.
Snakes Almost on a Plane -- Man Caught With Serpents in Suitcase (Asylum)
Feb 24th 2009 6:52AM Uhm...albinos are a genetic 'defect' and are not considered endangered. Rare, yes to some degree. With captive breeding, it is not. In the wild, yes, because predators pluck them out of the gene pool.
PETA Presents: Sarah Palin Snowball Fight Game (News Campus Blog)
Dec 27th 2008 4:14PM If PETA were a half way decent organization as they used to be at one point in time (Betty White days), I'd actually enjoy this game...LOL...especially Sarah Palin!! LLOOLL!! But I think the scene should be shooting her from a helicopter after chasing her for miles on end to exhaustion and then cutting off one of her legs for a reward.
PETA nowadays sure have brought a bad name to those really trying to do something and make a difference about real animal abuse (instead of wasting time gauking at our natural omnivorous diets and ignoring the fact we must eat meat to live. ALL vegetarians, especially vegans rely on vitamin and mineral supplements). Without eating any meat and going without the supplements, they would all die. PETA now adds to the problem and has helped create another...malnutrition in people.
Woman Sues After Falling in Bar's Toilet (Asylum)
Dec 6th 2008 12:44AM For one, you're assuming this person is overweight. Also, toilets are made to accomodate even overweight people. Unless she took a sledge hammer to it herself regardless of her weight, she is not responsible for that toilet being damaged.
You are also forgetting that property owners have a responsibility of repairs in their facilities, especially when they are an open public business. It doesn't matter what lead the toilet to break. The fact remains, it broke while in use and a patron was injured. She was injured due to neglect on the bar owner's end of it for not keeping up with repairs.
Is it really her fault the toilet was damaged?
Even if she were super intoxicated, drunkeness does not have anything to do with a damaged toilet breaking underneathe her unless she took a sledge hammer to it regardless of weight. You need a lot of force to break a toilet. Much more than what a single person of even a thousand pounds could apply just by sitting.
She has a reason to sue so at least her medical bills are paid. Her husband though is pushing the limits. But hey...people are desperate and when opportunity knocks, most people take what they can get.
Woman Sues After Falling in Bar's Toilet (Asylum)
Dec 5th 2008 4:08PM The toilet broke. They are not supposed to break. Obese people use regular toilets too and you never hear much of them breaking unless the toilets are damaged. This woman was injured in a place that caters to the public, thus is responsible for the safety of their patrons during their visit. As of falling in the toilet...fat people cannot fall into a toilet. They are too big to fit to fall in. Use some logic people when making comments.
