OK, I am not a woman, but got caught with bills for a jilted bride and therefore entitled to MY strong opinion. Our daughter was engaged to marry soon after her college graduation. My wife and I had a dim view of her fiance but nevertheless went through considerable expense for the State Botanical Gardens / Gowns / Flowers / Catering / Music / Photographer / Invitations / Limo / Caribbean honeymoon, etc.. Then The Groom of Doom backed-out at the last minute. Ironically, I always felt it was our daughter's responsibility: After all, it was she who brought this dud into our lives, why shouldn't she take responsibility for her poor choice? She not only refused to share the expenses with us, but then tried to hit us up again 2-years later when the next Mr. Right came along. This time, however, we offered her our Best Wishes instead of my wallet, and she flipped-out. Sorry ladies, but if you put more time picking-out your fiance than your invitation stationery your chances of real happiness might improve.
