Aug 20th 2010 12:09PM Was Colbert's hair-shaving stunt really "infamous"? I've been seeing that word used to mean "famous" more and more, when it means something quite different. You'd figure people who write for a living would know their vocabulary.

Oct 7th 2008 12:21PM I have no idea if Splenda is harmful or not, but I'm a skinny person (85 lbs.) who drinks diet soda -- I just like the way it tastes better. I would imagine that weight gain is more related to amount of food and drink than whether there is sugar in it or not. I will say, though, that I've never seen anyone *lose* weight on diet soda, so I'm perfectly willing to believe that it messes with the metabolism or tricks people into eating more or something.

Nov 7th 2007 12:26PM What an obnoxious, disrespectful and mocking article on a technology that is apparently genuinely helpful to a group of people. The reference to "bombs just waiting to blow up a practicing Jew's holy spot" is in particularly poor taste. Shame on the NYT for running this.
