Best Cities For Cheap Eating & Drinking (Digital City Blog)

Nov 8th 2008 9:28AM Want to eat cheap - go Chinese! For less than $10.00 I can get enough good food to feed at least 3 people - 4 if we don't gorge ourselves.

While His Son Won 8 Golds, Michael Phelps' Father Watched From Home (Fanhouse Olympics Blog)

Aug 24th 2008 12:27PM Lets see - his father said "I'm very proud of him and all he's done," Fred said. "This is not about me, it's about him."

I don't think this is a "clever line" as the reported claims - maybe its how he truly feels, given the past.

The newspapers had to hunt him down. He has not tried to claim any credit for or get any attention from his son's accomplishments. I don't know what more he was supposed to do. This story was about him not being at the Olympics, not about his role - or lack thereof - in Michael's upbringing.

Chinese Gymnast Yang Yun Admits She Was Underage When She Won 2000 Bronze Medal (Fanhouse Olympics Blog)

Aug 24th 2008 12:15PM The IOC President says all of the paperwork for the Chinese gymnasts "appears in order." Really!!! Its not like they had to buy a fake passport from a black market dealer - all of the false paperwork was generated by the Chinese government - OF COURSE it will appear to be in order. I am willing to bet the paperwork for the gymnast who is now admitting she was underage was in order, as well.

International Olympic Committee Promises to Investigate Chinese Gymnast's Age (Fanhouse Olympics Blog)

Aug 23rd 2008 12:55PM Sylvana -

Unfortunately in China, the coach and trainer ARE the government. And who is providing the false documents (i.e., passport) to support their claims of her being 16?

International Olympic Committee Promises to Investigate Chinese Gymnast's Age (Fanhouse Olympics Blog)

Aug 23rd 2008 12:49PM And now a Chiese gymnast has admitted that she was really only 14 when she won a bronze medal in the 2000 Olympics. Seems to add a lot of weight to the issue. However, the IOC indicates that it will not take any action against the 2000 Chinese team - out of fear of "embarrasing" the Chinese.

I agree had this same situation happened during Olympics in the U. U., everyone would be screaming.
