Alex Trebek, Jeopardy!, Canada, Hockey and Double Entendres (Fanhouse Backporch)
Dec 1st 2010 5:25AM Really... the words "Kebert Xela" are typed out in the video clip and the author spelled it wrong? It's Alex Trebek spelled backwards, where'd the "Z" come from??? I bet Ryan Wilson has some amazing journalism degree too.
'Avatar' Trailer: Has James Cameron Revolutionized Film? (Moviefone Blog)
Aug 25th 2009 9:15PM I do somewhat agree with you that hollywood does tend to use too much cgi. You know what the perfect amount is? The remastered Star Wars that released in the mid 90's. Where they were still the original films, but little cgi touches were added to scenes. Like adding windows into Cloud City to open up the background so the audience could see things going on outside. THAT was good cgi. Not the newer episodes where only (some of) the actors were real and everything else was fake.
'Avatar' Trailer: Has James Cameron Revolutionized Film? (Moviefone Blog)
Aug 25th 2009 8:11PM Not to jump to conclusions or anything, but they can fly across space and tap into this guys brain to link him to an avatar, but they can't fix his legs? what a depressing future. Am I missing something here? I guess I'll have to wait until the movie comes out before I really judge though. Looks interesting.
'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Character Guide (Moviefone Blog)
Jul 15th 2009 1:53AM So here's a question for the close followers of the series.
I really love the movies but have not read the books (though I work in a bookstore- how's that for irony?) so this may have been answered somewhere, or I might just have bad info- but:
If a person if born of two magical parents, they are of a full blood or "pure" magical family.
If they are born of 1 magical parent and 1 Muggle, they are only half blood right?
What does that make Hermione? (or any person of 2 muggle parents) are they like 1/4 blood, or did it skip a generation in her case, or can a person with no magical ancestors at all be born a Witch / Wizard?
Reply if you can- I have it set to email me, Thanks!
Should Paralyzed Vet Get a Free (Amusement Park) Ride? (Asylum)
Jun 19th 2009 6:46PM I think a lot of people seem to be throwing the word "discriminate" around when it is really a little more basic than that. Sometimes it's okay to be NICE to some people, especially if you feel they have provided you with a service. Keep this story in mind next time you get pulled over- why do people get upset if they are busted speeding 5mph over? It's officers discretion wether or not he should write a ticket, so the next time you get a ticket just think to yourself "this officer shouldn't have to discriminate between who should get a ticket, EVERYONE should have to PAY"----- right????
Student's Harvey Milk Report Censored By School (ParentDish)
May 26th 2009 4:03AM ha! damned if you do, damned if you don't. Poor principal, if she had let it go then she would have gotten calls from angry parents saying that their kids were prematurely exposed to sexual/homosexual content in school. Instead, she is now being blamed for trying to censor a child's paper dealing with a gay individual. AND OF COURSE a lawsuit is in the works. I'm sure money will be involved with a lawsuit, you can't just sue to change something, money must be involved. America is ridiculous with its lawsuits.....
Brazen Barack Obama Tattoos (Blackvoices Main)
May 26th 2009 3:48AM I think the issue of real importance here (not race, religion, or old politics) is- haven't these people kind of put all their eggs into one basket? I mean, I have tattoo's and people always give me grief for having a band logo, but at least I know what the band has already done. Getting a tattoo of a president inside his first year in office is to hope that he never does ANYTHING that you disagree with. It would only take one personal grievance for these people to regret their tattoos.
License to drink? College presidents think legal drinking age should go lower (WalletPop)
Feb 25th 2009 7:34PM Niki- Most soldiers don't join the army just to be destrucive. You can do a lot of good in the military. You can't say the same thing about drinking. The bottom line is that underage drinking is only done for one reason: to get drunk. The reasoning isn't going to change just because the legal age changes. Even though current laws may be "unenforceable," it keeps honest people honest. If you remove the law, you remove their motivation to stay in line.
Cadillac One: Details on president-elect Obama's new limo (Autoblog)
Jan 12th 2009 1:29AM can't you just hear the decimals climbing on obama's new deficit projection? at least he isn't spending wastefully or anything. why spend money on new armor for soldiers when you can have a new limo! what's a few million here or there on a car- I mean, since he's gonna turn the economy around and all that. the sad fact is that the economy will fix itself, like it always does. he better do something real, because if he falls on his face, he'll set "racial equality" back 20 years.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Dodges Eggs at Hungarian University (Switched)
May 19th 2008 9:00PM well J, 10 year olds throw food in schools everyday. It doesn't exactly scream maturity, so why would I want to listen to an older kid do it? He could have brought a gun, would that have gotten more attention?
