Michelle Duggar Hospitalized; Thanks Fans For Good Wishes (ParentDish)
Dec 8th 2009 3:12PM It's a little shocking to read the misogynist, even violent comments about sterilizing the mother. I too think there is something wrong, at many levels, with having so many children -- not just for the effect on the planet, but on the children themselves. People who actually work for a living and try to spend "quality" time with each child know how impossible this couple's task is. But why isn't anyone criticizing the father as well? And I don't mean suggestions of taking a sharp instrument to him (those of who suggest surgery using various methods for the mother -- do you think she's in this by herself? You sound like you hate your own mothers, or something). Summing up, we have got to stop glorifying resource-hogging families like these.
Jami Bernard's Ad Rant: Why would you want it in the can? (WalletPop)
Oct 18th 2009 6:54PM Good grief, talk about people needing to lighten up! One, this is her JOB, as an ad critic; she didn't randomly pick a product to critique. She chose an ad that she, like anyone with a little class, has juvenile connotations (and remember, apparent illiterates, "can" means "bathroom"). Two, this is her OPINION! Remember that: our right to free speech? Thank God, this is still a free country. Apparently the shallow, profane readers think that only someone who (1) agrees with you, and (2) is what you consider to be attractive, should be allowed to express their opinion. For those of you suggesting she not watch the commercial: why don't you not listen to critics to whom you illogically feel superior? Better yet, how about learning to spell . . . and THINK. Oh yes, and get some manners. Is this REALLY how you were taught to speak to/about others?

Oct 18th 2009 5:37PM Weird that people assume this is an anal reference when the vernacular "can" actually means bathroom. . .

Oct 18th 2009 5:30PM Trashing a critic's appearance and/or speculating on her sexual preferences (not subtly, but indeed as vulgarly as possible)? Wow, very mature. You can disagree with her without displaying why YOU in fact are not, and never will be, a true critic -- paid or otherwise. Also I guess WalletPop doesn't monitor for the probably virus-ridden ads that have nothing to do with the story; sure wish those intruders would get a real life. . .
Foxy Brown, Toni Braxton in Serious Tax Trouble (The Boombox)
Jul 24th 2009 11:40PM "patriots" (ironic), you are truly nuts. The Supreme Court has nothing to do with federal tax liability. You are only (loosely) correct in the IRS not "mandating" or being "law." Congress makes tax laws, the IRS simply applies/enforces the law. And I guess you meant W-4 form, since you can't fill out a W-2; that's what your employer(s) uses to report your taxes on. I wonder how you think you're being served/protected by your country without anyone paying taxes? You are beyond confused.
Middle-Aged Women Flocking to Facebook -- and Getting Addicted (Switched)
Apr 14th 2009 11:52PM Hey "gere," your (misspelled) comment about divorce and single parent families does NOT disprove "the reality that comes with not being satisfied with what you got (sic) and always wanting more and more" -- I believe you meant it "demonstrates" that, rather than "belies." Whatever, you sound like you have long-standing issues with women, while in my experience it tends to be the MEN who don't look to home and family for gratification, but to shallow outside alternatives. By the way, there was only one "bra burning" and that was for media purposes. Women were way too busy to go around destroying their undergarments. Sorry to destroy another cliche' for you.

If your babies were able to manipulate phone cords in your absence, then they were in a lot more danger than inadvertently calling the police. That is negligent parenting.

Jan 18th 2009 4:37PM Hey soooc, if that sloppy last sentence made perfect sense to you the first time, well, good. But the vague "they" is always poor style and automatically ambiguous, even with quick-witted readers like you!
Facebook - Does it Make You a Bad Mom? (ParentDish)
Jan 17th 2009 6:04PM Call me old-fashioned, but I don't think staring at a computer and tuning out your kids is a good example, among other things. One of those things is reading "articles" by someone with such poor English that they think repeatedly using the phrase "different than" is correct. It's "different FROM"! Maybe more time doing homework or reading actual books would have been of benefit to you. My own kids had very limited computer time, were encouraged to actually socialize (face-to-face), volunteer in the commnity, and use real books; and are top scholars accepted into selective colleges. Yes, my being a stay-at-home Mom for many years could be isolating and I gave up some self-centered activities. But I'm not complaining, and my children aren't either.

Jan 16th 2009 5:49AM Don't these articles have editors? The last paragraph is atrocious: the author didn't mean "familiarly," and didn't he mean it would be hard (for this developer) to sell MORE houses? Though I can't really tell, from the vague reference to "they" in "they're." Another sloppy AOL selection.
