Missing money leads to seventh grade strip-search (ParentDish)
Oct 9th 2008 12:17AM The principal is an idiot! Principals and teachers don't strip search students. If deemed necessary, that is the job of law enforcement.
However, this being a private school instead of a public school, may the licensure requirements for faculty are different.
Doctor turned over to FBI for trying to use front toilet in aircraft (Gadling)
Aug 13th 2008 11:09AM There have been times when I have flown that an attendent blocks the aisle by intentionally placing a coffee cart in the way of passengers. The cockpit door is then opened and the pilot and cockpit crew use the bathroom. When they are finished the aisle is unblocked and the front bathroom again becomes available for passengers. If this was the case, the doctor was clearly in the wrong. However, if the aisle was not blocked then I cannot see the big deal in using the bathroom and the airpline is clearly in the wrong. Just the same, getting an old man arrested simply because he had to use the bathroom is a bit absurd.
Nuclear Missile Launch Code Guards Found Dozing on the Job (Switched)
Jul 26th 2008 7:52PM Forget the sleeping guards. If their codes wouldn't work anyway, why do we have them sitting there?
Women's Mysteries Explained (Personal Articles)
Jul 11th 2008 12:45PM I have been very, very happily married for 41 years. You younger guys: Believe me when I say you will never figure out women!
No. 1 Quality Men Want in a Wife (Personal Articles)
Jul 9th 2008 4:35PM First of all, "smart people" of either gender should not be judged by whether they work out of the home or wish to be homemakers. Second, smart men marry smart women because there is much more to life than simply working; for a marriage to succeed both mates need to share common interests--something not likely if one spouse is educated and the other isn't. Third, in this era it is common for both husband and wife to share in child-rearing duties. However, common tedious tasks like household chores can easily be farmed out to various agencies.
As to marrying a woman "like our moms." Generally that is not going to happen anymore. My mom was a 1950's housewife. She grew up in an era when the only jobs open to women were housework and possibly nursing. In high school boys were taught industrial arts while girls were taught homemaking skills. In the 21st Century finding girls just like mom should include finding doctors, lawyers, and presidents of companies.
Hot Seat: Clinton for VP? (Politics Daily)
Jun 6th 2008 2:38AM read The Prince by Machiavelli. Clinton on the ticket may help Obama to get elected. However, down the road selecting her will only cause turmoil.
Big in Egypt: Five things you can do in Egypt that don't involve Pyramids (Gadling)
May 7th 2008 10:00PM I've been to Egypt several times. It's a wonderful place with outstanding people and wonderful tourist lodging. I especially enjoy Luxor, not because that's where the pyramids are but because it sits right on the Nile and a stay at the Sheraton is just a terrific way to spend a couple of weeks.
Tiger Explains Why He Will Break Your Neck for Snapping His Photo Mid-Backswing (Fanhouse Golf Blog)
Mar 29th 2008 6:39AM I don't play golf but I have been involved in other activities which require my utmost attention while appearing before the public. Photographers come right up in my face and shoot pics or worse yet, use flash--totally breaks your concentration!
Buffalo Wings (AOL Food Blog)
Feb 15th 2008 7:17AM Perdue makes frozen chicken wings. Zap them in the microwave and you don't have to have any culinary skills whatsoever. More than that, they are cheap and you can eat them at anytime, usually watching your favorite television show. More over, they are not dripping in grease!
Woman asked for $5 co-pay during heart attack (That's Fit)
Feb 4th 2008 9:25PM Back in 2002 I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. My blood pressure was 40/0--thats 40 over zero. They would not start working on me until my wife went through the verification of hospitalization for me. There was a line and there she sat while she waited until her number was called while I lay almost dead on a gurney in the emergency room.
I don't expect doctors to work for nothing but I do think there comes a time when priorities need to be put in order. Imagine paying for police protection and being told that the police can't respond to your 911 call until the dispatcher verifies your credit card.
