UConn Might Not Be Done With Nate Miles (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)
Oct 12th 2008 5:19PM He's only a felon, after all. It takes a LOT more than that to get disqualified at Connecticut. Rumor has it that some of the people on the team actually know where some classrooms are. After all, its not called "UConn" for nothing.
Millionaire Destroyed Priceless Lucian Freud Painting (Luxist)
Aug 27th 2008 12:39PM At least the author didn't give his opinion about the whole thing as do ALLLL other contemporary "journalists", both print and television. He does share their improper use of the language, but doesn't compound that with illiterate, pointless, ignorant editorializing. A confusing article, nonetheless.
New Malicious MySpace Friends Plant Viruses (Switched)
Jan 17th 2008 4:07PM Speaking as someone who has had his computer "hijacked" twice, all I can say about the needle dick dweebs who do this crap: beheading would be too kind a treatment. They have taken advantage of a necessity - the use of computers and the internet for commerce - and turned what is already a difficult situation into a nightmare. These people - the needle dick virus punks - add nothing to life and do not deserve it. I have no idea who they are but I do know that they are lower than pond scum on the chain of life and need to be eradicated forever.
San Francisco's mayor wants fee on soft drinks (That's Fit)
Dec 20th 2007 1:59AM The Peoples' Republic of North Carolina already has gone there and back. Back in the 80's and early 90's, the cadre had instituted a "sugar tax" on all soft drinks and all vending syrups for such items as snow cones and shaved ice. It was an exorbitant amount of at least $1.00 per case of soda, and approximately 25% of the cost of vending syrups, (we have a vending operation, so we knew it up close and personal). Virginia, one of the border states, had no such tax. As a result, there was a massive infusion of sodas and syrups from Virginia into the Peoples' Republic. It is no longer in force since all that it was doing was destroying the businesses in the Peoples' Republic, COSTING the cadre more than the taxes were supposed to generate. And, if those tax dollars went to anything beneficial, then I am Gunga Din, damned glad to meet ya'.
T.M.I. on 'Price is Right' (AOL Video Blog)
Dec 18th 2007 1:14AM Dennis Leary described you beautifully in one of his songs, which was apparently written for you: "I'm an A**hole". You should have it posted as your theme song if you think that that funny bit was "offensive". Pathetic.
Duke Having Trouble Filling 'Cameron Crazies' (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)
Nov 13th 2007 2:01PM Although I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the guys yet this year, they seem to be an exciting team, to say the least. Like Duke of old. Way back in history, when I was there, (late '60's-early '70's), we were never that great but it was the excitement that got it done. And, trust me, if you haven't been to a game there, you have never been to a college basketball game. As a former professor, (NC State, Indiana, URI - been to "games" at each of those places), I can say that without any fear of contradiction.
ACC Hoops Preview: #3-Duke (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)
Nov 2nd 2007 1:35AM They drove me NUTS last year with all the unforced turnovers. Here's hoping for a better time with that. Also, Henderson would be any other team's superstar, so I am hoping to see him reach his full potential this year. Which is enormous. Here's hoping.
No Cell Phones When Bob Knight Is Around (Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog)
Oct 22nd 2007 4:30PM When I was faculty at IU, I had several of his players in my classes over the course of the years there. Of ALL of my students, his players were the ONLY ones who did not miss one class, (provided that they were not on the road for a game). And they worked hard. Yeah, what a maniac. And, oh, yeah, for sure, do not have your son go anywhere near someone like that.
