Jobless claims hit record 6.36 million, and pink slips keep coming (Daily Finance)
May 14th 2009 10:09PM The government and the economists don't think that we're going into a depression, but I foud something very interesting; there were nine things that led into a chain of events into the Great Depression of 1929:
- Debt liquidation and distress selling.
- Contraction of the money supply as bank loans are paid off.
- A fall in the level of asset prices.
- A still greater fall in the net worths of business, precipitating bankruptcies.
- A fall in profits.
- A reduction in output, in trade and in employment.
- Pessimism and loss of confidence.
- Hoarding of money.
- A fall in nominal interest rates and a rise in deflation adjusted interest rates.
These are the same things that led to the Great Depression, and they are the same things which are happening now in today's society. If you compare the events which led to the Great Depression to what is going on now, they parallel each other. The bigwigs in the White House can't hide the fact of a depression with such obvious details, or they can't hide it for much longer. If you haven't been preparing, it's high time you started.
Anna Rexia costume: Funny or not? (That's Fit)
Oct 27th 2007 3:49PM The costume is there for a comedic purpose. Most halloween costumes are nowadays. Are you going to become offended by a Ally Catraz costume because someone spent 20 years at Alcatraz and died? Or the Ella Mental costume, and become offended by someone you know who's in a mental ward and suffering? These costumes are to bring light to a bad situation. Get a grip, people, and smile more.
Is MySpace's "Tom" Lying About His Age? (Switched)
Oct 23rd 2007 5:48PM This just goes to show you that even the friendly-faced creator of a worldwide social website can lie. And imagine if Tom has another account, seeing as though he is the mastermind behind MySpace and therefor can create codes for that sort of thing. Being brought into the light as such as a lie can really distinguish your character, and deface what people see as such a friendly and helpful person.
I never liked Tom anyway.
$399 PlayStation 3 Coming, But It Won't Play Old Games (Switched)
Oct 18th 2007 8:15PM You know, ever since the PSone had come out around 1995, I was hooked. I've been a Playstation fan for 12 years and now, look at what Sony has done! A $399 price tag without reverse compatability?! What in the f***ing hell are you thinking?! Get rid of the Blue-Ray, or put in a cheap-o 20GB and have upgrades to 40GB or 80GB later on. Blue-Ray will probably be obsolete just like UMD movies. Be sensible. Microsoft didn't develop Blue-Ray. Wii didn't develop Blue-Ray. They made a console for GAMING. Not a muti-purpose all in one type deal. Don't you have a separate device for blue-ray movies?
*Sigh* Back to my roots. Nintendo, I'm coming home.
