New School Hopes Six-Figure Teacher Salaries Pave Way to Success (Politics Daily)

Jun 6th 2009 12:59PM I agree that the salaries and degree levels are above and beyond what is needed especially to teach at grade school level. The most important factor that I have not seen in any post is a teachers ability to connect and reach out to the students and parents. If a child feels connected and admires a mentor, they will exceed all expectations! Don't you remember how well you did when you had a favorite teacher?

New School Hopes Six-Figure Teacher Salaries Pave Way to Success (Politics Daily)

Jun 6th 2009 12:34PM I'm sorry, we need Ivy league teachers for 5th grade students why? Is it necessary to have teachers with Masters teaching any grade school level? If these Government employees were held accountable and the school districts were managed like the "private sector" they would all be better performers. Why are teachers "entitled" to auto pay increases when they go back to school to earn another degree regardless of their ability or grade level they are teaching? Teachers should not be exempt from at-will if they do not perform. After they reach tenure they feel safe, get comfortable and mediocre. Being book smart means nothing if you cannot apply it whether it's the teacher or student.

Afraid of Losing Job, Florida Woman Deletes Office Files Worth $2.5 Million (Switched)

Jan 25th 2008 8:55AM Sounds more like a "communication" breakdown to me. While I don't agree with the immature way the employee handled the situation it also sounds like there may have been other things going on and her having a lack of confidence in her work to "think" she was being fired. Why was she looking in the "want" ads anyway? Sounds like she may have not been the devoted employee anyway....

'Baby boom' unexpectedly hit the U.S. in 2006 (That's Fit)

Jan 18th 2008 10:03AM It seems like everyone in Hollywood is pregnant and on that bandwagon. They should show an article of who isn't pregnant. But what kind of future do these Hollywood children have when the parents divorce rates are so high? I see them being bounced around and raised by nannies. Money and fame doesn't make a good foundation to "raising" a child.

Jan 18th 2008 9:51AM Interesting concept. But if it were take off nationaly, what would happen to all the farmers?
They have to re-invent themselves and / or loose farms in their family for generations?

Save money on groceries without Top Ramen: Eating sustainably on a budget (WalletPop)

Jan 6th 2008 12:18AM With three teenage boys we need to really stretch our food and budget. It all depends on where you shop, (sometimes several different stores depening on sale papers) buy store brands and stretching stick to your rib meals. Nothing wrong with a hearty breakfast for dinner either. We also use a lot of store brand Bisquick and invent new meals.

The Milkshake Diet: Too good to be true? (That's Fit)

Nov 10th 2007 9:00AM I could not eat any food due to a surgery and was liquid only diet for months. No nutrition in regular shakes. Carnation breakfast drink nutrients were closest to Boost and tasted much better. Added with a banana and peanut butter for a twist it was very filling and I did loose weight.
