Whitney Houston Enrolled in Outpatient Rehab Program (The Boombox)
May 9th 2011 6:45PM Does no one have compassion anymore? This is one of the great talents of our time....wasted! I still remember the thrill of her early performances. I thought we were seeing the launch of a career that would rival Barbra, Judy, Frank, Tony, Celine, etc, etc,, All gone!
Reasons to Miss School for a Kids Vacation (AOL Travel News)
Jan 22nd 2011 8:37PM Spoken like an administrator. Whose job will it be to "work with families"? Why should a teacher be required to give this much extra time to one student? That time must be taken from other students or from the teacher's life. Would you expect this personal extra time from other highly educated professionals such as a doctor, lawyer or an school administrator?
Reasons to Miss School for a Kids Vacation (AOL Travel News)
Jan 22nd 2011 8:27PM Sure, this is ok once in a while. But parents and students should realize that they should make an extra effort to have great attendance the rest of the time. Some parents take their kids out of school many, many days a year to attend weddings, buy a prom dress, go to the orthodontist, visit grandma, etc, etc, etc. Each time the student is gone the school loses money and the student gets behind. No student should miss school more than say 5 days a year.
As far as the suggestion to "find out what you can do to keep them updated on assignments", high school teachers have as many as 180 students a year and it is very time consuming to make extra plans to accomodate these trips. Also, as a teacher and a former high school Dean of Students, I can tell you that 90% of the time, the special make up work assigned is never turned in and the student simply misses out.
Joan Rivers Talks 'A Piece of Work,' Betty White and the Pressures of Hollywood (Moviefone Blog)
Jun 12th 2010 4:06PM Joan Rivers can dish it out, but she can't take it. She said such horrible ugly things about Liz Taylor and Grace Kelly, among others, and attacked their children. (She went on a rampage against Grace's daughters right after Grace died)- but if any one dares to make ugle jokes at the expense of her daughter ( who she pushes into the limelight all the time) she weeps and cries "Foul!". She complained that her daughter's looks and talent should be off limits, when she made her living by attacking the children of others. I feel no sympathy for her. What goes round, comes round.
The Oscarologist: 'Avatar,' 'Hurt Locker' Lead Nominees, but 'Blind Side' Makes Biggest Noise (Moviefone Blog)
Feb 2nd 2010 6:47PM 2001? Give me a break. I saw it in London when it first came out, and by the time we got the the very predictable ending, the whole audience was asleep. All of those endless shots of the space craft and people walking upside down and the waltz music. UGH. It could have been turned into a very good, short, 30 minute film without losing any of the the "story".
American Family Association calls for boycott of McDonald's (ParentDish)
Jul 6th 2008 10:41PM God is not a fact and the Bible was written by hundreds of jewish men over hundreds of years. I wonder if they got every word from god or if they allowed just a little of their personal prejudice to creep in.

Ann Coulter Calls John Edwards a Faggot (News Bloggers)
Mar 2nd 2007 8:47PM I'm a pretty moderate guy. Sometimes I vote more conservatively, sometimes more liberally. It depends on the issue. BUT..if Ann Coulter supports an issue, my whole family opposes it (6 registered voters), because she is the most repulsive, vile person in the public eye. Why would she call this candidate by such an ugly name. I'm sure she calls Obama a nigger, too. Conservatives... if you ever want my vote, stop listening to or buying books frorm this Hitleresque bigot.
Did Glenn Beck Step Over the Line? (News Bloggers)
Mar 2nd 2007 8:32PM Why is it that when some conservative bozzo does something crude, rude or nasty, the other conservatives tell us to "lighten up", while the rest of the time they tell us how to live our lives from their smug, christian tower. YOU LIGHTEN UP. Leave us alone and we'll leave you alone. If the Conservative Right is an example of who will be in "heaven', I'll be glad to stay dead.
Cinematical's SmartGossip for June 12, 2006 (Cinematical)
Jun 14th 2006 10:38PM Isn't it interestsing how some christians think that can say anything about anybody anytime, but if you don'e "respect" the trappings of their delusion, you are a bad person. Say what you want. You have rights in this country whether you beleive the majority faith or not.
