Who Will Be the Breakout Star of 2011? (Moviefone Blog)

Jan 2nd 2011 6:31AM Agree wholeheartedly, not one person of color??!? But sadly I think part of the problem is the other two comments made in response to the original. White people only want to see other white people on the screen, despite the lack of talent, and think anything other than white is in itself racist, not sure what's happened to create such the attitude change. I remember a time when diversity was to be Cherished and Encouraged, not Denigrated. Truly sad when the big and small screens were more diverse 20 years ago than they are now.

Reeling Brett Favre in Trouble, Both On and Off the Field (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)

Oct 25th 2010 8:31PM I think the people defending Farve are missing the point. You can argue all day about how good Favre's skills still are, I personally believe he's certainly better than probably 70% of the starting QBs in the league. Obviously for Pro athletes it's not about just playing the game. The real issue is the way he has conducted himself off the field. This cheating thing is just the latest in escapades that have left many, with little to no respect for Favre as a man, you could even point to a chink in the armour back to the prescription drug abuse days. I personally lost respect for him the last few years as he has played this "game" with teams, players, fans on the, now yearly, Favre show of "will he or won't he retire". Why not just say you are going to keep playing, and play, why change your mind several times, in obvious leverage attempts at more money and/or exposure? It's been ridiculous no matter how "good" he still is. I can't wait for the day when he just stays gone, finally.

How to Flirt at Work to Get Ahead (AOL Jobs)

Sep 28th 2010 6:20PM Agree with most of the comments on this article, poorly written, and just not a good idea to follow. The true problems in this article are summed up in the statement to follow these rules if "...you're looking to land a big promotion..." Can't believe the statement was actually made. As often as flirting (and more) happens so people get ahead, it's just beyond irresponsible to state it as positive advice. AOL continues to sometimes hit and really miss on stuff like this.

Jorja Fox Staying on 'CSI.' Will This Help the Ratings? (Inside TV Blog)

Oct 15th 2009 5:52PM I think many are missing the obvious problem here. It's not that Grissom was so much better than Fishburne, in fact Fishburne is a better actor technically than Petersen, though I liked Petersen's "character" on the show much better. Either way, both are talented enough actors. The issue is that Fishburne's character was billed and marketed as a replacement for Grissom, but on the show itself he is not, in fact, he came in brand new to CSI, never having done this job before, making him lowest man on the totem pole, so he never had a chance. Had they made the character a direct replacement for Grissom, i.e. already a seasoned CSI who was to lead the team, it would have worked much better. Now it's just disjointed. I see Fishburne eventually taking the fall here, if things don't improve, and that would be wrong. When the real issue is the writing, and the story arc itself for his induction!!! By the way, sorry folks, Jorga Fox is overated. She's fine for the show, but enough of an impact player to make a difference.

Josh Hamilton's Triumphant Tale Too Special to Implode Now (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)

Aug 11th 2009 7:21PM I'm sorry, but I do not get why this guy deserves second chances because he admitted what he did, and invokes religious overtures in his statements, but we crucify other athletes for doing similar things, even when they have apologized. I am just missing how "different" this is. I truly hate to bring race into it, but I can't help but wonder if the same article, and some responses, would be the same, if this were an NFL or NBA player going through the same thing, and whose skin was of a different hue.
