Teens' treat lands teachers in hospital, kids in jail {ParentDish}
Jun 19th 2008 2:47PM Here is yet another example that more and more people have no sense of what is right and wrong . . . and the problem continues to grow as the knowledge of the lessons in the Bible continues to shrink. The Scriptures don't just tell stories about Moses, Adam and Eve, Jesus, Daniel and so on. They are LOADED with guidance on how to lead a good, decent life . . . and to have a conscience about right and wrong when it's not written down as a law. (Note: The Bible also has horrible stories about bad behavior and the resulting consequences, as object lessons.)
PD*Poll: Students vote autistic 5-year-old out of class {ParentDish}
May 29th 2008 11:20AM If the teacher had been a sincere Christian, this would have never happened. Not nice. Cruel. Mean.
Detroit Lions Executive Threatens to 'Come After' Reporter if He Writes a Negative Story {AOL Sports Blog}
May 19th 2008 10:31AM Profanity/filthy language is so deeply engrained in our culture now that it is used with no shame. The employee should learn to express himself "professionally" (he WAS representing the Lions, after all, his employer). It is not necessary to use disgusting words and phrases when we talk or write; let's STOP DOING IT, America! Let's return to decency and civility.
Joe Montana Sues Ex-Wife {AOL Sports Blog}
May 9th 2008 11:28AM Why can't people just learn to work through their marital problems . . . and stay married, as they promised on their wedding day?! They they would avoid all this vitriol later!
Hot Seat: Who Appeals to Working Class? {Political Machine Blog}
May 6th 2008 10:48AM Isn't it funny how so many people criticize Republicans because they have lots of money (well, some do) and are in big business (well, some are) . . . and yet--supposedly--working one's way up to success and wealth is part of the American Dream! I'm a member of the working class, and it's up to me to work my way up and NOT "cast asparagus" on those who already have. (The "....." is a joke, son!)
Potent Quotables: Madonna's Stone Cold {Spinner}
May 2nd 2008 10:45AM Hey, guess what, folks? People who say filthy words have filthy minds. It's not a matter of "letting it slip"; the nastiness is part of who they are . . . and they're not worthy of my time (or money spent) unless they change their ways. Shame on anyone who glorifies the use of filthiness in thought, speech or deeds (including nasty posts on the Internet)!
13 Things You Should Do Before You Quit {Asylum}
May 1st 2008 9:16AM The writer of the article thinks it's cute to talk about "starting a lucrative drug ring"? Some things should not be joked about, sir; get a little decency and common sense in your life.
NY Times Assails Clinton, Calls for End to Primary {Political Machine Blog}
Apr 23rd 2008 4:43PM Negativity and attacking have become mainstream American. Whatever happened to Jesus' admonition to treat others as WE would like to be treated? For two centuries it was mostly that way; not now. It's "the other guy is rotten and no good . . . and I am perfect and never do anything wrong." Why don't we all get back to gentleness, tact, diplomacy, polite disagreement, clean language, moral uprightness, etc.? It's much more "humane."
Are Phillies Fans Causing the Crumbling of Western Civilization? Billy Wagner Says Yes! {AOL Sports Blog}
Apr 21st 2008 10:32AM The gentleman has a point: SOME of us laugh at someone jumping from a bridge to their death (this actually happened in my presence a few weeks ago), laugh about divorce (instead of being ashamed about it), laugh at someone showing genuine emotion by crying . . . and on and on and on. The cheap thrill; that's what society seems to want these days, no matter what the stimulus. It's one thing to laugh when Rob Petrie trips over a stool on a TV comedy; it's quite another in real life. Have we lost our humanity in the quest for entertainment and amusement?
Hot Seat: Is Obama a Fake Christian? {Political Machine Blog}
Apr 15th 2008 1:43PM A fake Christian is 1) one who wears the name of Jesus but that is all (never goes to worship service, does not study the Bible regularly; does not constantly strive to make their thoughts, words and deeds Christ-like, etc.) or 2) is a hearer of the Word but not a doer of the Word.
