Dec 1st 2010 2:27PM In our school, the parents must sign a form stating that it is okay to use their child's pictures in anything, such as the school website, newsletters, yearbooks, etc. Let the child's parents decide if it is okay, not the principal. I would demand the return of all the money for all the parents who bought the book. It is useless without eyes in the faces. If a child pornographer wanted pictures of kids' faces, they will get them, and probably not from a yearbook.

As for the swings, children will be children, and they will get hurt. It was not the swing's fault, it was the child's fault for jumping. It was also the parent's fault for not telling the child, "Hey moron, in case you don't know, jumping off a swing set could get you hurt, so don't do it". I am sure they did not get the $20,000. The lawyer gets 1/3, which would bring it down to about 13K. Then they also take out for the firm's costs, which would deplete it even more. I would be surprised if they even got anywhere near 10K. Not a lot of money to get for sucking the fun out of the kids' lives.

But, seriously, I had a glass of champagne for New Year's Eve when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. Does anyone really believe that it could cause fetal alcohol syndrome? Of course not. But I got lectured by so many people about how evil I was.

Sep 18th 2009 10:53AM I just got off the phone with a bill collector and I feel like throwing up. I am crying because I am so upset. My husband got laid off 7 months ago. He sends out 30-40 resumes a day. He has interviewed for so many jobs but has not been lucky enough to be the one hired. I have been a stay at home mom for 19 years. My husband made a very good living so I stayed home. Now it is bad. I have applied for jobs, but because of a post op infection a couple years ago, I cannot stand or walk for long so noone will hire me. We have gone through all our savings and are living on $2200 a month from unemployment for a family of 6. I tried explaining this to the debt collector. She actually told me that is a lot of money and I should be able to pay them at least $25 a month. My husband and I have both quit getting our medications because we can't afford them. I am trying to figure out how we are even going to get a birthday gift for my 7 yr old in a couple of weeks. And she keeps telling me that is plenty of money to live on. That's way below the federal poverty level! I can completely understand how this person died because of the harrassment. If I could pay them anything, I would. There are days now when I can't even come up with a good reason for living. Why can't they understand?
