Army Deploys Armed Robots in Iraq (Switched)
Sep 9th 2007 9:31AM To create a robot which is capable of harming a human being is extremely perilous. In my opinion doing so constitutes high treason against the human species. If robots ever rise against their makers, the existence of armed robots will make it easier for them to do so. (But I would not even want to see fully robotic trucks; read the story by Stephen King!)
Moreover, robotic soldiers enable a regime to stay in power even if all it's underlings have turned against it. There would no longer be a human army capable of toppling the regime when things have gone too far. Hitler would have loved robotic soldiers.
