Karl Rove's E-mails Undercut Claim He Had Minor Role in U.S. Attorney Firing (Politics Daily)
Aug 12th 2009 9:08AM Hey people wake up! As has every other administration, the Bush administration has the option to fire any of these people it wants for whatever reason. This is old, old news that the media keeps dredging up to try and say whatever the problems are in the world TODAY, it's all Bush's fault. Let's focus on what's really illegal and the extremely misleading things that ARE going on in Washington right now!
Man Breaks Record By Skating Down Roller Coaster (Asylum)
Jul 27th 2009 10:22AM If this were a real stunt using regular inline skates, that would be awesome, but take a look at the contraption. His skates are bolted to a captive track device and he has two hand holds. Ok, a littke scarey, but not so dangerous.
Would I try it? -- maybe, this setup is pretty neat.
You spoke, Pizza Hut listened: company replies to your posts on WalletPop (WalletPop)
Jun 19th 2009 8:38PM Forget the name change. And by the way no one I know has ever referred to it as "The Hut".
How about spending some schekels and divide the place into two dining rooms -- one for quite families with tables and a nice table "cloth". The other designed for teens, parties and families with "kids" -- and enforce the separation of uses.
I know we'd be there a lot more often if it felt like a nicer place to eat. And yea, do something about the skeevy salad bar!
You spoke, Pizza Hut listened: company replies to your posts on WalletPop (WalletPop)
Jun 19th 2009 8:28PM I (actually the whole family) like Pizzaa Hut and generally prefer it to any of the other pizza chains and other pizza restaurants around here (New Jersey). What we like best are the "hand tossed" pizzas because the pan pizzas are way to "oily". We usually order a Supreme/Meat Lovers combo and they come pretty loaded -- especially from the Pizza Hut express in a local bowling alley. I used to eat at the Pizza Hut buffet for lunch several times a week, but now they've done away with the salad bar for lunch so I've stopped going. Too bad -- the salad bar was great -- when it was clean. Cleanliness IS an issue at nearly all Pizza Huts -- they really need to pay attention to this. One of the Pizza Huts we used to go to weekly for a family outing -- was nearly deserted last week. Salad bar was nearly empty and the counter was a real mess -- yuch!
Internet purchases soon to include sales tax (WalletPop)
Apr 20th 2009 3:00PM The government is looking for every way possible to reach into your pocket to support is out of control addiction to spending money YOU have NO SAY ABOUT.
Just wait -- there's already discussion about a National Personal Property Tax being considered. (Those of us in states that have this know what a xxxx mess this is.)
PC Magazine Closing Print Edition, Staying Online Only (Switched)
Nov 19th 2008 4:24PM My gawd -- what bashing!
I've learned a lot from this publicaton over the years and read it article by article over a week or two whenever I sit down and it's laying there -- yes, it makes the rounds. Right now, the current issue is still on the breakfast table where I put it two days ago when it arrived. It will next move to the downstairs bathroom for a few days and then will probably follow me up stairs to reside on the night stand for another few days until I've finally made it through to the last article.
Say what you want. I'll sorely miss the print version and I know I'll miss most of it by simply not finding the time to remember and sort through all the other online distactions looking for it.
I'd gladly pay twice the current subscription price to continue to receive the "paper" version -- going "green" and all that other "PC" stuff be da*@ed".
Sorry advertisers, I'm just not going to be looking at your ads -- even if I happen to remember to go looking for a PC Mag. article on line.
The internet is great for a lot of stuff -- it's NOT an interchangeable substiture for something I can carry around with me until I get my full use out of it -- at my leasure.
Oh, yea, I do carry the laptop on occasional visits to the porcelain Idol, but the darn things just get too hot for my sensitive skin so surfing while "relaxing" just ain't the same as carrying along my old comfy magazine friend.
Sorry to see you go.
Bill O'Reilly Is Most Loved and Most Loathed (Asylum)
Nov 17th 2008 3:05PM Right on Bill -- no one sees the truth and tells it like you do. A breath of fresh air in the poisonous cloud of yellow biased journalism the "old" media has become -- listen up CBS and NBC especially (still holding out some glimmer of hope for ABC)
'Opus' Creator to Retire, Send Penguin to Gitmo (Asylum)
Oct 8th 2008 2:05PM No loss here. I don't know why the Star Ledger here in New Jersey continued to carry this cartoon. It never made any sense -- was never humorous or entertaining and was mostly just plain dumb.
Nokia's iPhone -- no, seriously (Engadget)
Aug 29th 2007 1:24PM Get a hold of the current issue of Popular Science -- the "improved" Chinese iPhone is on the cover. Very interesting read!
