Simulated Mars Journey Excites and Disappoints in Equal Measure (Asylum)
Oct 25th 2009 3:14AM I would gladly voluntier for this oppertunity. But I do have some medical conditions that coud be a problem. But since my neck injury I am used to living alone, as long as I could bring my cat for comany and have plenty of Science Fiction to read. It wouldn't be all that much different from where I live now. Except that I Would have other Humans for company. I guess that learning Russian would be the least of my problems..... And learning to do regular matenince shouldn't be that hard
And talking to my regular Science Fiction chat room would still be good.
Divorce for Toni, Jail for Daryl (AOL Hot Searches)
Jun 26th 2009 5:02AM I was brought up to believe that gay relationships were against God. But I also believe that what you do behind your closed doors is your business. But when you put in on TV, in my face and try to tell me that this is the right way to be. Thats just plain wrong. Most people doint live in Hollyweird.
Cinematical Screens 'Star Trek' Footage! (Cinematical)
Nov 19th 2008 4:49AM I am a Trekkie, an original fan. The Trekkers are the Newbies. In the S. T. Universe they refer to anything as being one Film as being Canon. Also perhaps the Official Technical Manuel's. The books in the "shared universe" I don't consider as being Science Fiction. Chekov didn't join the crew until season 2. So Khan couldn't have recognized him as Space Seed was a 1st season episode. Though there was a humorous story about when he was a midshipman. Khan had a bout of Montezuma's Revenge adapting to the Enterprise Food (pre replicater). Khan is pounding on the door of one of the few bathroom doors. Out comes Chekov and as he is rushing in, Khan says that he will never forget his face.
While amusing, it was never shown on film so it isn't Canon. We can only hope for the Best.
Premium M&Ms: Affordable luxury or candy-coated blasphemy? (WalletPop)
Aug 9th 2008 4:59AM What Watson dosn't say about the M&M's in WW2 Was that the troops were given chocolate bars. They tended to melt in the heat and would jamb the rifles it they had ate a bar for energy before loading it. Thus the coating kept it from melting on thier hands and fowling Rifles. Thus the advertising promotion that It melts in your mouth not in your hands.
As a diabetic I can't eat them like I used too. But when I have a desire I get the M&M Peanuts. As they have enough chocolate in them to satisfy my craving or need when I have low blood surgar. But it isn't like a handfull of regurlar M&M's. There is only a thin shell of chocolate surrounding the peanut. That gives you something to chew on while you get the taste of the chocolate.
The Hottest Lipstick Color Is... (Shopping Articles Blog)
Jul 12th 2008 3:06AM I am so sorry to tell you that Bozo the Clown has recently pased away. He will be missed. I knew that an AOL article with women and nude in the title wouldn't take me to a Nude Site. I was just curious to see where it would lead me.
What is "IN" constantly changes to make you throw out the old and to buy the next new fad.
If you're obese, no food for you! (Slashfood)
Feb 6th 2008 6:27AM
For those of you who watch what you eat,
here's the final word on nutrition and health.
It's a relief to know the truth
after all those conflicting
nutritional studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than
Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
CONCLUSION
Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Digital Text Ads Coming to Shopping Carts (Switched)
Nov 23rd 2007 1:10AM One time I had got some e-mail that said when you got spam, to send as many replies as you could to clog up teir web site. So not thinking I replied, and copyed that and replied a few times and then copyed that. Ect. And filled up to Copy window too. I sent it and was imeadiatly bumped from AOL. I had filled up the send window and copy window with a total of 527 E-Mails. I had to phone them to get reinstated. I explained things. And then I asked them why I could copy and paste that many in the e-mail send blocks if you weren't allowed to send that many????????
I was thinking that I did a bit against Spam.
But they never answered me on that.
Teeh, Who Needs Them??????????

Humans Will Create Artificial Life In 10 Years, Says Scientist (Switched)
Oct 14th 2007 7:24AM Why don't you Bible Thumpers go out and learn real history. Like the Gospels that were eliminated in about 300 A. D. Because that is when the Church went from Teaching to Controlling.
Learn about the Pope who got Preagnent.
There was a Pope who had Orgies and had slaves keep track of how many times his guests got off. And gave out prizes.
Or how about why you eat Fish on Fridays? That is because the Church needed a market for the fish caught.
So Sorry. But this should be a science chat. I don't care what you dreamed about. Lets talk FACTS..........
Humans Will Create Artificial Life In 10 Years, Says Scientist (Switched)
Oct 14th 2007 6:46AM Why do they always show a picture of Data when talking about artifical life? He is not an Android, he is a Humanoid Robot. An Android is synthetic Life, like the Replecants in Blade Runner. They needed special psychological tests to tell them appart from humans. They Logan of the Tyrell Corporation was More Human Than Human.
Cho Seung-Hui's Plays (News Bloggers)
Apr 18th 2007 6:59AM I am deeply touched by these events, and I wish to extend my sympathies to the families of the victims. In our local countys, I believe that we have 1 dead and 2 survivors. God Bless them all. Many people showed themselves to be Heroes at that time.
Terrorism has hit home here before. I am not all that far from where Flight 93 crashed on 9/11.. It tended to bring home the outside world to here in the middle of nowhere. On that day America needed some Heroes. Just as we need some now.
I wish that they had a way to skip over hundreds of responses and to read the last ones posted. So that I am not repeating things. Or making points that others have made later with more information. I only got through the 1st 400 postings. A lot of that just seemed to be nit-picking or a soap opera. Except for those who truly wished the people their Best.
He was referred for counseling, he spent 2 days in a facility. That is where they probably prescribed the anti-depressants that he was on. If that was me, to be sent to a facility like that It would have only made me more aware of my alienation from society. Also some of the drugs used for depression can increase suicidal urges when you first take them. And in that case he might have decided to take others out with him?
So our "Helpful" System just made things worse for him.
At one time during Nixon's administration, There was a bill to test all early school students for signs of violence and to relocate them to special camps. Lucky it was defeated. Shades of 1984......
At that age any kid could have a bad day and get a bad test score.
We are very lucky that it didn't happen. Perhaps Steven King would have been writing from one of those camps?
I had a lovely cat owner to help me through some of my rough times. He is my good buddy. I couldn't abandon him or leave him to be cared for by strangers who didn't understand him.
