Frito-Lay Gives Its Snacks an "All Natural" Makeover (Slashfood)
Mar 25th 2011 11:36PM The word "NATURAL" is a scam. It means nothing in the real food world. It is a way for distributers to manipulate the public into believing certain foods are better for you...ie
"health food". The are no rules and regulations regarding what is sprayed on it while growing and what is added into the product. For example, fake Krab is made from mystery white fish caught who knows where, and who knows what the fish came in contact with, but it's natural.
Regarding the salt comment above. ALL prepared foods have way too much salt in it. We only need 1500 to 2000 mg of salt daily. Those people who have heredity causing high blood pressure, it is very difficult to stay within those limits. Just try looking at everything you eat and add up the amount of everything you eat...you'll be surprised. I say don't add the salt or keep it to the bare minimum and those who want more salt can add their own.
World's Ugliest Hotels (AOL Travel News)
Mar 8th 2011 1:27PM I LOVE them! Whats wrong with htis author? They are so unique, excentric and artistic. Whats wrong with being diferent? The lack of compassion and acceptance, and negative judgement of the wierd and different in this world is what brings us hatred and war. Open up your minds and enjoy something new and different. I also would love to stay in the dog motel. Hopefully they would let my dogs stay there too :)
Notorious 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' Mental Institution Reopening (Asylum)
Nov 21st 2010 4:52PM I used to march with Knight Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps. When DCW (Drum Corps West) competition was in Salem several corps stayed in the old vacated units. It was pathetic back then. Even found a padded cell and told ghost stories in there. Several years later I toured Salem State Hosp and considered working there. I decided to stay where I currently work in Calif. If Oregon State Hospital thinks it can improve, I wish them luck and stay away from the court monitors that have Calif in a bind.A staff member was killed last month in California. Priorities are twisted. People need to realize if the mental health services are going to improve in this country, they need to accept there is no money to be made, just lost. Get over it and put the money in to improve thse poor peoples lives. Mainly STOP TREATING PAPER, AND MAKING PAPER THE PRIOROTY. Peoples lives are the priority.
San Francisco Riots Follow Giants' World Series Victory (Fanhouse MLB Blog)
Nov 2nd 2010 12:12PM Why does the media have to sensationalize the few overly roudy fan areas when most of the city was in celebration with out being destructive. Every large city has factions of people who are going to screw up things. The news needs to report it, but I think the few areas of trouble should have been given one line and the rest of the happy crowd gatherings be given the front and center of reporting. On another note, I question the mentality of the driver who attempted to drive through that large crowd. They were asking for trouble and I hope their car insurance company denies them coverage.
Jumbo Jet Appears to Graze Golden Gate Bridge During Stunt (AOL Travel News)
Oct 19th 2010 8:21PM The angle this video was taken makes it look worse than it really was. From my standpoint at the north end of the GG bridge, there was plenty of room. I just don't understand what the point of this stunt was. This time as it is every year, is the time we are to honor those who give their lives to the security of our country, and respond to emergency situations.
How to Prevent Kids From Catching the Common Cold (ParentDish)
Oct 19th 2010 12:07PM I work in a mental hospital. Snotty noses are all around me. I carry the saline solution "Ocean" or the generic equivelent. I use it all the time especially if I KNOW I was with someone with a cold. I fully believe it really works in helping curb a cold. It keeps your nose membranes moist. I also start sucking on zinc as soon as I notice the first ichiness in my throat. If I get a cold it is really mild. I have hand sanitizer in my truck and use it after shopping or work.
Michael Vick Says He's Out 'Maybe a Week, Maybe Two Weeks' (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
Oct 5th 2010 5:45PM I was hoping some player might miss his step and step on Vick's belly with those huge cleats...after all it is the belly area of a dog that is the most vulnerable. My respect for the NFH deteriorated when they allowed Vick to compete again. I don't care what the crime is, once a player comits a crime worse than a mistomeanor, they should NEVER be allowed to play in the league again. the NFL, NBA and others..they all need to clean up their players and hold higher expectations of their players. They are the world's role models. Rehardless of how many anti Vicj posts there are here, SADLY, there are tons of youngsters who think Vick (and the so called "rehabed" drug users) are cool. It schould b "screw up once and you are out".
Can Cinnamon Help Manage Blood Sugar? (That's Fit)
Oct 5th 2010 1:25PM Cassia is actually one species of cinnamon and is the most common form of cinnamon in USA and Canada. What I'd like to know is when I buy cinnamon capsules, it rarely states the species. My assumption it is mostly Cassia.
A quote from Wikipedia "In 2006, a study reported no statistically significant additional benefit when cinnamon cassia powder was given to type 2 diabetes patients who were already being treated with metformin.[8] A systematic review of research indicates that cinnamon may reduce fasting blood sugar, but does not have an effect on hemoglobin A1C, a biological marker of long-term diabetes."

Oct 5th 2010 12:10PM That is really cool Guillermina. It goes right along with that daily glass or two of cabernet, merlot or other red wine to lower your cholesterol!
