Frank Deford Thinks Middle School Football Trick Play Was Wrong (Fanhouse Backporch)

Nov 19th 2010 10:57AM good grief, this guy had is absolutely backward. The Refs/Umps are the ones we should not try to fool, that's called cheating. The object of football is to deceive the opponents with tricks, stutters, fakes, etc. As for 'by an adult' that would seem to eliminate coaching entirely. 100% wrong, dude.

American Idol: TAYLOR WINS! (finale) (AOL TV)

May 25th 2006 12:57PM geez people, lighten up! It was a fun show, and sure some notes were missed, but do you imagine that even the best get it perfect on their first take in the studio? And for that matter, some of the older guest 'stars' didn't exactly shine.
Now, to the matter at hand... Taylor finally was allowed to break out the harp, and to good effect. Kat finally sang the melodies, and sounded pretty damn good! Broadway awaits her. Chris will be the big winner a year down the road... I know I'll buy his first CD with a band sound unheard. Don't know if I'd buy a McP CD, or even a Taylor one, but I'd sure as heck check out Taylor's show when it hits LV, and it will! Somebody has obviously been coaching all these kids, note the improvement in projection from Kev and Elliot. All in all a fun season, it IS show biz after all.

The American Idol morning hangover (AOL TV)

May 11th 2006 11:34AM Sigh. My wife's comment, "I'm not watching this show any more!". Even money that about 10 million will agree. Watch the ratings drop.

American Idol: Elliott & Elvis are BFF (AOL TV)

May 10th 2006 11:17AM The ONLY way Kat is staying is if she has a female block vote. That said, I listened to the show a second time with eyes closed. Try it. I think you'll find that Chris really as a nice tone and is someone you WANT to listen to, no matter what he's singing. Elliot's first would have caused a station change, but the second was maybe listenable. Watching it live it was great, but with eyes closed not so great. I don't believe Taylor imitated Elvis, I think they are alike in some performance related ways (not voice). In any case, his first was fun to watch and the second also great to listen to, radio-style. Say bye bye to Kat, look for Taylor/Chris shootout. Great fun!

American Idol: The night of the bad arrangements (AOL TV)

Apr 26th 2006 6:56PM Close your eyes and listen... good advice. I think you'll find that you'd like a replay button for Chris and Taylor. Elliot pleasant to hear.. once. I hope he continues to improve, it makes the show interesting. Still predicting the guys top 3 tonight, the girls the bottom. Kellie should by all rights go, but if the voteForTheWorst has its way we're saying bye bye to Paris tonight.

American Idol: The night of the bad arrangements (AOL TV)

Apr 26th 2006 12:11PM I think jamtvman had a good question. What kind of records would Taylor make? none, and he shouldn't have to. He may own whatever part of Las Vegas Wayne Newton doesn't in the future. I think Taylor is playing the waiting game now, saving that big performance for the last night. Watch out when he pulls the harp out.

Chris is best, Elliot a good (maybe better) singer, but I think a lot more Alt Rock CDs are sold than Conick CDs. You do the math.

Kat had a bad night. Paris didn't connect with the song and was just loud, although I think she will have a great Aretha-like career... and that ain't bad!

That leaves poor Kellie for the next Dukes of Hazzard movie. She will laugh all the way to the bank.

Prediction for last 2 standing. Chris and Taylor. Taylor will pull all the stops and go nutso on stage. Chris will over POWER him.

Great fun this year anyway, with only one screamer left.

If Kellie doesn't go home tonight, there's something wrong with Idol voting (AOL TV)

Apr 20th 2006 12:56AM Well, Jimbo, I did leave a little wiggle room for the Ace departure. Could it be that voteForTheWorst web site had some impact? Now, how can Chris grab that top spot back with a great love song? Song choice will be the key now for sure. Does "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" qualify? Maybe Kellie can get lucky with another Patsy Cline/Willie Nelson song. Crazy? What was that web site again?

Apr 19th 2006 8:15PM She is so nice to look at, but really, bye bye. She'll show up as Rippa's little sister on the little screen soon anyway. And, hey! some of us LIKE alternative and therefore... you get the idea. Still a Taylor fan, break that harp out on the last night and win big! Kathy sings nice, but belongs on Broadway. Elliot still the best pipes, and keeps improving. I could imagine a Conick-like career there. I like him, but Ace could be leaving soon too.
