Chicago Family Faces Eviction After Questionable House Raid (AOL Real Estate)

Oct 5th 2011 12:07PM Well if they thought for a minute that they were going to touch my property without being forced back off of it then they would have another thing coming.
Mandatory fine for something that isn't proven or appealed. I think they need a civics lesson. The goal is code compliance, not having the citizens ready to pounce on the inspectors and code enforcement officers. Hope those inspectors are perfect. Otherwise it will be them paying the fines and having the work done for them at their expense.
My house is protected by Smith and Wesson. There aren't too many code enforcement officers that even want to debate the issue with the two of them, much less try to have someone do something about it.

Michael Lohan: 'Forget Jail, Lindsay Needs Rehab' (PopEater)

Jun 23rd 2011 12:59PM Throw her in jail for at least 2 years without the possibility of early release. No visitors for the first 60 days. Bare bones survival. No TV. Give her a job cleaning toilets and mopping floors. Bring her down to the level of typical inmates and let her see how much better she had it until she decided to be a drunk drug addict.

FOX Doesn't Want as Much 'America's Most Wanted' (PopEater)

May 16th 2011 5:30PM There was a time when a broadcaster had to air public service programming as part of their FCC license requirements. AMW would certainly qualify at a network level which would mean that they would be doing a public service for the entire group of affiliates, not just a single local station.
The almight dollar seems to be louder than being a public service. Sex, sin and skin seem to be the formula for most of the Fox prime time programming these days. Too bad they can't give an hour to the public good.
Thanks John Walsh for sending the bad guy to jail over 1000 times. I hope you can land somewhere else and be as successful.

How Old Is Too Old to Wear a Miniskirt? (Stylelist)

May 13th 2011 8:56PM A survey out of England, the fashion capitol of nowhere. Another wanna be expert telling women what not to wear. Right.
Sorry, this article is nothing but useless filler. If it looks good on you at any age then wear it. If it looks bad on you at any age get rid of it. I polled 3 people around me at an airport and they all agree!

TSA To Retest Radiation Recorded From Full-Body Scanners (AOL Travel News)

Mar 16th 2011 2:49PM Retraining inspectors translates to:
Here are the limits for the results. Fill in with a value between the low and high limit so that we don't alert anyone to the real number which is expected to be higher than is safe or acceptable.

Gunman Flees Las Vegas Casino with $32,000 in Chips (AOL Travel News)

Feb 26th 2011 10:41AM They don't need secret alarms. They have hundreds of cameras and hire people to watch all of them. Security should have caught this and should have video of every move this crook took to get out. It was early in the morning so the security staff would be smaller than during the day.

Lindsay Lohan Declines Plea Deal; Judge Warns 'This Case Involves Jail Time' (PopEater)

Feb 23rd 2011 9:23AM She needs to get her life guidance. Jail will be a nice captive place away from mommy and daddy and her loser friends. 3 squares a day, a cot to sleep on, a shower every few days and a whole lot of time to sober up and get a reality check.
She should be glad she doesn't live in Singapore. Her butt would be marked for life with a good caning for what she has done.

Alaska Rep Refuses TSA Airport Pat-Down, Takes Ferry Instead (AOL Travel News)

Feb 22nd 2011 3:22PM You can't fine me without proving me guilty of something. Talk about a civil rights violation. It almost makes me want to opt out so that I can own them, fire them and ship them off to the middle of the ocean where they will drop off into a very cold abyss after I win the lawsuit.
I took on a TSA agent one day. Challenged his statements. He got a supervisor and I challenged him. Stood right up to him and told him what was wrong with his thinking, redefining of the English language and what "optional" implied. I then filed an official complaint with TSA over their incompetence, inconsistency and idiotic self grandizing ideas all within the same airport facility. I gave examples of the inconsistency. They fixed it.
Go ahead and grab me there and I will beat the crap out of the agent (self defense) before filing sexual molestation charges against them. They will become a sexual offender for life. Two can play at this game.

Alaska Rep Refuses TSA Airport Pat-Down, Takes Ferry Instead (AOL Travel News)

Feb 22nd 2011 3:14PM Three cheers for someone of importance in the political system stepping up and saying NO! to TSA and their sad idea of keeping us safe.
Obviously their scanning system isn't as great as they portray it to be and obviously people don't like the whole idea. Where is the data on radiation exposure, the effects on frequent flyers and the proof that this is actually the necessary way to keep us secure?
LAst time I went through Frankfurt they did a non invasive pat down before we boarded the plane. No X-Ray scanner, just the usual mag system.
And did anyone bother to mention that in order to go through this X-Ray device you have to completely empty your pockets of everything for them to get a good picture?
I certainly don't feel safer with these new procedures in place. I don't get the impression that anyone else flying with me does either.
Someone needs to get this under control. Unfortunately, the person the article is about is only a state rep, not in DC where this needs to come from.

Light Bulbs Advertised as 'Green' Contain Arsenic and Lead: Study (WalletPop)

Feb 16th 2011 9:42AM Saving bulbs means that I have to store hazmat material. Don't you think that there is some danger in that idea?
And where did the lead, arsenic and mercury come from? I will give you a hint! PLANET EARTH! They already exist here in some form. The only stuff from earth that doesn't exist here anymore is the stuff we shot into space. I know that is a hard concept for some people to follow, but it is in fact true. We basically have the same amount of water here on earth as we did 1000 years ago. It may be in different forms or redistributed, but the total is the same.
The whole thing is a trade off. Incandescent lights are not energy efficient, but the don't rely on toxic chemicals. Flourescent bulbs have mercury. LED's have lead. Most of the electronics being built today are CE certified which means that they don't have lead solder in them among other things. Leadless LED's do exist as fafr as the solder and lead on the leads to them go. You can burn more energy which translates to using more resources to generate that power and potentially more pollution or you can use emergy efficient bulbs and deal with the hazmat waste. one broken bulb won't hurt you. Hundreds might.
