Feb 11th 2008 11:41AM Price floors aren't going to work! We will have to find some way to discourage speculation in the market place,at least where oil is concerned.If the speculators can't make a killing they won't bother with it and the prices per barrel will fall.
But look at this! Chevron oil posted its highest earnings quarter ...EVER! And crude was hovering around $100.00 dollars a barrel during that time, how did it happen? Because they are holding back reserves that were bought at the "old" price and selling that to us. They aren't suppose to do that, it violates the anti-trust laws. Congress will not act, this means the american people must do something about it on their own. Looks like we are going to have Obama for our next President; I fear for his and his families safety; some southern cracker is going to do something really stupid; I just feel it in my bones!Are Americans "mature" enough to have a black man for their President? I guess we will just have to wait and see won't we? But I see all the candidates making the same promises the ones before them did, and nothing was done then, and nothing will get done this time either! As long as our Congressmen and Senators are on big businesses' payroll we will be at their whim and mercy. OPEC and the Arab Emirates that control the market price of oil aren't really the problem, the companies themselves are dictating oil policy. Who do you think hired the guys who gunned down JFK? It wasn't the Tooth Fairy Guild, that's for sure! Castro just didn't have enough pull then and he doesn't now; and the mob didn't do it because they really don't want to take that kind of heat,so who is left? Khruchev? He was a big moth with a size 12 shoe, he didn't really have that kind of moxy!
Anyone can see why the black vote is going to Obama; they think that if he becomes the next President that payback to whitey will come in big time! nothing could be further from the truth! I've already been hearing it on the street, "Jus' wait white boy, its a comin'!" What a bunch of ignorant fools! All that crap was 148 years ago , 8 generations; and their still singing that same old," My grandadaddy was a slave..blah and blah!" and more of the same. Grow up! Every race on the planet has had their turn at being enslaved. Why do you think this great country was born? Yeah, we've had our darkest hours, just like every other growing republic does. No true democracies exist, so sorry to burst the "dream" bubble. We elect officials to do our thinking for us and to see that it all runs smoothly, of course we are going to have graft and corruption, we're dealing with people here, not saints! So maybe they are right and I'm wrong, maybe the white boys really have had their day and its their turn now to be on top! It happens! No government stands forever, its impossible. time will govern all fates, maybe its our turn to become a third-world country,I hope not, but maybe it is. Our present day economic crisis maybe the first sign s of a crumbling society, a small shove in the wrong direction will put paid to the whole affair. The United States of America will become one for the history books. Like so many great civilizations before it. And everytime it has ben the disenfranchised individuals in that society that have brought it down. If that's the plan, I hope they have a plan for what they intend to replace it with. but judging by what I've seen in other countries and how Africa is run; its not going to bode well for the former powers that be. I saw the other day that a bunch of fools turned in their guns to the police..that is so stupid! When the people turn in all their guns; only the criminals will have weapons...open season! Think its bad now? Don't be fooled!A disarmed populace is a flock of sheep ripe for the slaughter house! I can see myself washing my car some day and...BANG!!! I'll be worm food!And there won't be anyone to do anything about it..or care to! So...I've exercised my right of free speech..while I still can.

Feb 10th 2008 1:43PM I'm all for cutting our dependence on foreign oil, but at the same time I don't want to pay $10.00 dollars a gallon for it either. And the threat of having to fight ANOTHER costly war to procure it makes me retch. Fusion power IS the answer! Hydrogen power is the way to go! The most abundant element in the universe and we smart little monkeys haven't even begun to tap its true potential! Hydrogen is produced ,in nature faster than we could ever consume it. The Sun burns, or I should say converts 660 metric tons of Hydrogen a second into Helium snd some rare inert trace gases.
The Norwegians and the Swedes have the hardware in place, so do the British; the problem? Feeding the reaction enough Hydrogen to make it self-sustaining in a controlled manner like the Sun. We just don't have a cheap, viable way to produce enough Tritium and Deutrium to feed a Fusion reactor. And again they want to use an old technology in tandem with it, super-heated steam to drive generator turbines. The Norwegians want to generate electricity directly off the reactor by using induction to creat a flux-density field from the magnetic field that would be produced when the reaction fires up. OH NO! Its not going to vaporize Manhatten Island, if the feed stops; the reaction stops and the reactor just shuts down.
OH NO! There won't be waste products from it, just some gases we have a use for and molecularly pure water, that might be a problem, can't just dump it, we'd have to re-mineralize it before we could use it. But in its raw form it would be just the ticket for the high tech electronics industry where highly -refined water is used. So the benefits far out weigh the costs; the West should pool their resources and concentrate their efforts on this technology, wind, solar and alternative fuels be damned; Concentrate on solving the feed problem; were just a little shove away from it, another 100 billion bucks should do it! We spend that on new ways to kill each other all the time!
Wouldn't it be nice to thumb your nose at the oil companies as they close up shop? Of course even if they got it going today it woould take 20 or 30 years to phase out the old technology, I won't live to see it, but my Nephews and Niece would!

Aug 24th 2007 7:42AM Well! With the advent of mechanization in wars in the first world war; does this surprize anyone that finally someone would invent a machine that fights like a soldier? The day they flew those planes into the trade center buildings was the day they declared war on America! It was an act of war declared by the islamic peoples on the American people; they support terorists and it was terrorists that did it. So what's so illegal about this war? Their all damned lucky that i wasn't President of the U.S. that day! There would be no Iraq, Syria, Iran or any other islamic state to fret about; poof! Gone and gladly forgotten! Good riddence to bad rubbish! OH! What about their women & kiddies? They teach their women and kiddies to blow themselves up in crowds of innocent people, they teach their kids to hate us from their borning moment. They are breeding the army that will live to kill my nephews!I don't think they should EVER get that chance! Kill em' all; let god sort em' out! Everyone waited with anxiously held breaths that day! The foreign embassies in these countries emptied in a matter of hours; and eveyone else in the world waited for America to do what THEY would have done! Well, we didn't! Not only do we have a wishy-washy man as President; he doesn't have the guts to do what should be done! Not just for the American people; but for the good of the world! Islam emphatically states, and I quote, " Do not suffer the Infidels to live; lest they convert and praise Allah." Or words to the same effect. Everyone whom is NOT of the islamic faith is considered an Infidel; this includes you China.So, what to do? We've tried reasoning with these zealots, no effect; its their way or no way. We've tried ferreting them out; a dismal failure. We invaded them; a big mistake. Now they have left the western powers but one alternative; To erradicate them all. Because if you don't, they will never stop. they will never give in; they will never surrender.I belive in a "higher power" whom I choose to call God. I do not write and say these things lightly! The only other alternative besides "nuke them all" is to withdraw and wait for them to get at us; because they will! Isreal is an armed camp; and they can't keep them out. Homeland security is a great big expensive joke foisted off on the American people! They couldn't keep a squirrel off the U.S. Mints' floor! He got through all the security to the pressroom floor! Security indeed! There ain't no such animal! Safer or safest; that's all you can get. Remember that burglar alarms are meant for one thing; To tell you someone has already broken in! It may scare them off; but usually by the time there is a physical response; the thief is long gone with the goodies anyway! So those whom believe I'm a thought less warmonger raise their hands, those opposed say nay. Either way; I don't care what you think; I'm entitled to my opinion.

I remember that litle unit; it was really nothing more than a beefed up Brother word processor. Boy if you have one that still works there are electronics museums that would be interested.

Aug 11th 2007 1:28PM I kind of suspected as much! The latest technology huh? Well Based on the TR-80 DT computer from of all people Radio Shack? Whoa! Everything I ever bought from them was faulty! Maybe there will be a class action and everyone who was ever convicted with evidence from these machines can get it taken off their record! That would be nice. It really drives your insurance costs throught the roof! Although driving while intoxicated is a big time no-no; I still don't think that people should be convicted of any crime with faulty information. I don't drink anymore so that solved that problem. Maybe there's a business opportunity here. Start a pool of designated drivers for people to draw from and hire them out for an evening at reaasonable rates. Sound like a winner?
