Toyota and Nintendo Team Up for "Elderly-Friendly" Car {Switched.com}
Dec 24th 2007 2:24PM That sounds great but I probably won't benefit from it as I am now 75. I would like to know if the price is going to be prohibitive to those with only Social Security to live on. Even with a savings the money slips away too easily. Everything goes up in price but our checks don't go up accordinly. They raise our monthly amount then raise the Medicare and Part D deductions. I am still getting, for 2008, $1 less than I was getting in 2006, plus everything else has gone up. The cost of living goes way beyond what we get. No wonder so many of us put off doctors appointments, we do have to pay some of it. We do without a lot of things but we struggle on. I am thankful for what I get. And yes, I did save while I was working but taking care of my mother for 18 years didn't leave me much to save.
Obama Finally Zings Hillary {Political Machine Blog}
Nov 21st 2007 7:38PM Why, just once in my lifetime (I hope I'm still around in 5 years)can't we have a politcal race (any race) where they don't try to muddy the waters. Stop downgrading your opponents and tell us what you will (can) do, not what they didn't (won't) do. We know you haven't got all the power. If you veto something it can still pass. The one thing I would really like to see it to have someone stop the tacking on of things to good bills that wouldn't pass alone. Only one item per bill.
And I agree with CHUUUCK Senator Clinton will make up proud.
Top 11 Oprah Blunders of '07: No. 6 {Black Voices Blog}
Nov 19th 2007 8:59PM I know how Oprah feels. My 11 year old kittie got a lung infection. I spent $600 I could ill afford to get her well, but it was not to be. I lost my precious Mitsy. I cried for 2 solid months, said I would never have another cat. I have had cats for years. I am now 75 and I guess I take it harder now. But 5 months later I told my daughter I could stand the quiet in the house. No balls bouncing around no good morning mews, no racing around the house, no soft, furry friend to tuck me in bed or wake me in the mornings. My granddaughter found Top Cats on the internet and there was one here is our town. The lady had 17 cats and as I walked down the aisle looking at them, I looked up and there was the most beautiful little kittie face looking at me and reaching her little paw out to me. I had to wait for her to ge completely well and spayed and when I brought her home she raced through the house for 15 minutes. She is a joy, plays catch, wakes me in the morning with a soft paw to my check. How can anyone not love their pet?
Who Would Actually Vote for Hillary? {AOL Elections Blog}
Aug 9th 2007 4:54PM Golly, folks, give Hillary some credit. Of course she stuck with Bill. She didn't know then she would be running for president. She believed her vows - for better or worse - I think she showed great courage and compassion, just what we need in a preisdent. So, many hate her, many hated Lincoln too but he was a great president. Hillary has my vote.
YearlyKos Fallout for Hillary? {AOL Elections Blog}
Aug 9th 2007 4:45PM I think Hillary has it all. Of course she should take money from lobbyists after all they are us. At least she is honest about it. Hillary tells it like it is, this is more than the others do. I'd rather have a president who is truthful than one who tells me what they think I want to hear.
