The Surprising Strategy That Cleared My Acne (Stylelist)
May 15th 2011 12:14AM For me the solution turned out to be cranberry juice! If I drink or eat citrus (which I love), it's zit-city... UNLESS I take in enough cranberry to cancel it. There's so much sugar in the juice that I just swallow a few (two to six) capsules instead. And I can juggle it for weeks at a time, like if I'm a guest where OJ is served. I don't seem to need it at all if there's no citrus around, but again with an exception-- the few days before my period. Gotta use cranberry then or risk one or two of those deep system pimples. And if I get careless and one does occur, then upping the cranberry makes it subside wonderfully over about three days.
I learned about this 3rd hand from a friend whose teenage niece was nearly suicidal over her pizza-face syndrome and had consulted a quite pricey Beverly Hills doctor. The doc said, well I can prescribe erythromycin, and recommend keeping scrupulously clean, getting enough sleep and holding back on chocolate, etc, but frankly antibiotics are over-used, too-clean wipes out the acid mantle of your skin, stress is making it hard for you to sleep well... and the best dietary measure you can experiment with is your acid/alkaline balance. Take cranberry capsules, drink cranberry juice, and call for another appointment if that doesn't work. But it did work... she passed the info on to me... and it's just mindboggling to me that no one else ever seems to have heard of it!
A Renewed Focus on YOU (AOL Mail Blog)
Dec 11th 2009 12:45PM marcel, nope, I am definitely using webmail, not the desktop client.
However, you're right, there are no sig ads anymore (for which I'm grateful).
Also I like that we can embed pix again, vs attaching 'em.
The pane does speed up going thru email.
BUT I still can't forward from the Sent Mail folder.
Thanks for your attention - this all by itself is amazing.

A Renewed Focus on YOU (AOL Mail Blog)
Dec 11th 2009 10:21AM ...just sent a test email to one of my other accounts, and it arrived with no ad under the sig line.
...post 126 has excellent suggestions to AOL in general. I'm tech-geeky enough, but AOL is indeed what I *used to* suggest for older newbies. Now I send 'em to Gmail.

Dec 11th 2009 9:51AM 1. - Why can't I forward a copy of already sent mail from the Sent Mail folder?? Have to copy/paste it...
2. - I'm ok with ads along the sides, some are even interesting, but since I PAY for AOL I do NOT appreciate having ADS UNDER MY SIG LINE on every piece of email I send!!
So I've kept this account only for old friends from the early 90's to find me. I reply to all mail now by using Gmail.
Beware: Cougars on the Prowl! (AOL Hot Searches)
Nov 8th 2008 8:04PM I'm intrigued enough that people have not turned this into a bashing that I'll add my input. In my 40's I worked and often travelled with a fellow in his 20's; to no one's surprise it turned into a relationship. Yes, I was uneasy over the age difference for the first few years, but that's never been his fault. He was raised in Europe and we have much more in common than we have differences. We've been together now for 20 years, built strong family ties, still work together, and the ridiculous truth is, we're simply growing old together in the nicest, most fun ways.
Are You a Cyberchondriac? (Switched)
Aug 7th 2007 7:52PM What an odd spin to put on looking up med info. We took care of a dying friend for several months - and believe me, we looked up tons of info! We are so grateful to HAVE the internet!
