Aug 10th 2008 8:12AM I have been stunned all day since reading about Bernie's passing. I had hoped and prayed he would recover and even went to bed last night thinking maybe it wasn't so.
I watch "The Bernie Mac" show every night while taking care of computer stuff and the Mac was never cruel or riffed off others misfortune. He was a true King of Comedy.

Jul 25th 2008 3:44PM I doubt that you are actually a vet's wife. The money injured soldiers receive as compensation is miniscule unless they have additional insurance which they pay for themselves. My Godfather was a talented, skilled electrician who sometimes had nervous breakdowns and couldn't work for weeks at a time because of the atrocities he witnessed in Europe in WW2. My friend Frank lost a leg in Korea and he had to be re-certified as disabled EVERY OTHER YEAR for the rest of his life! The way this
country treats it's wounded veterans has been and continues to be shameful. Go spend a few hours at a VA hospital and open your mind!
KFC's veggie sandwich isn't quite so meat-free {Slashfood}
Jul 25th 2008 1:56AM If they actually roll this sandwich out here in the US, I might try it. Garden Burgers are so damn good, especially with a couple strips of bacon and a slice of Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato,onion and mayo on a soft kaiser roll. Some veggie foods actually taste really good.
A tip for folks who may have friends who are vegetarians coming to your BBQ. Grilled slices of squash and eggplant and grilled corn on the cob are always a hit when I BBQ, for omnivores and herbivores alike.
