Missouri Upsets BCS No. 1 Oklahoma, Ending Years of Frustration (Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog)
Oct 24th 2010 2:29AM I remember 1992. Miami was undefeated and had the Heisman Tophy winning quarterback. They were heavy favorites over an undefeated Alabama team that had scored enough to win all their games but hadn't run up the scores. Almost everyone had picked Miami to win and the talk was how badly they would beat Alabama. Halfway through the first quarter the Miami quarterback looked shell-shocked. Alabama thoroughly whipped Miami 34-13 and the game was nowhere near that close. Anyone remember Gino Toretto?
For a more recent example ask Ohio State fans how they like playing SEC teams for the national title. They were favorites in both games and were totally embarassed by LSU and Florida. They have never beaten an SEC team in a bowl game either.
Just a friendly reminder to not count your national championships before you actually win them......especially if playing an SEC team.
Obama Shocked, Saddened by Youth Suicides (ParentDish)
Oct 23rd 2010 2:02PM You, sir, are a bigoted fool. You play right into the hands of the power hungry people that lost power in the last presidential election. They know there are plenty of cowardly fools like you out there looking for a way to be a bigot without actually having to claim that title. You are too cowardly to come out and say you don't like President Obama because he is a black man. They spout their lies about the President and know you will grab hold of them because you are a bigot. Sure unemployment at 9.6% is a bad thing, but if the President had not done the things he did, it could easily be 25% or 30% and we could be in a new world wide Great Depression. They know your bigotry is more important to you than the wellfare of this nation and its citizens. Next time you look in the mirror take a close look. You will see the face of a foolish bigot looking back at you.
Want a PhD in R. Pattz? College Offering 'Twilight'-Themed Course (Lemondrop)
Oct 16th 2010 2:24PM I suppose most of the people complaining would complain about a class on the US constitution as well since it was written by a bunch of flaming liberal, non-christians.
Republicans Place Risky Bet on 1980 Economics to Win in 2010 (Politics Daily)
May 26th 2010 6:29AM For enorcel: You don't seem to remember all the other benefits Reagan brought us. By cutting federal taxes he cut spending on social programs and wound up emptying mental health facilities by putting their patients on the streets and almost single handedly creating the huge homeless problem. Federal funds that used to go to the states for education and healthcare were cut causing states to have to cut those programs and still having to raise state taxes.
Because of those tax cuts the federal government also cut funds for federal parks and infrastructure projects such as highway and bridge maintenance, which also meant that those jobs were being cut.
Basically Reagan cut taxes for the richest without regard for the consequences to the less than wealthy.
Bottom line is that states had to cut services and raise taxes so overall taxes did not go down, but what you got for your money was less than before Federal taxes were cut.
Immigration: Arizona Cracks Down (What If They're Wrong?) (Politics Daily)
Apr 25th 2010 1:09PM Just where do you get your figures? 20 murdered every day? Hundreds of billions of dollars? Taking taxpayer money but not paying taxes? Actually they pay lots of taxes. Income and SS taxes which they don't get back. Sales taxes on every gallon of gas they buy, all the food, clothes, vehicles. I hear about all the government services iilegals use, most of that is a lie. Illegals stay as far from the government as they can because they don't want to get caught and sent back. As far as working at that processing plant, they didn't hire themselves. The rich owners did that. If you want to blame someone, blame those owners that knowingly hire them, not the poor slob just trying to make a living.
As for staying here and getting on welfare that seldom happens...just another lie. Most save and send their money home to buy a farm or start a business there. Some want to stay here, but most want to go back home where friends and family are. And they do. You are either incredibly uninformed or intentionally telling lies. Either way you are wrong.
BTW, did you quit buying meat from that plant or keep buying it cause it was cheaper?
National Day of Prayer: Franklin Graham Deserved to Be Booted (Politics Daily)
Apr 23rd 2010 8:23PM The bible is not quoted anywhere in our founding documents. There is no mention of god other than as our creator in the Declaration of Independence. There are documents however that state the United States was NOT founded as a christian nation. I can direct you to that document.
Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin,,,,these men were not christians, they were Deists. If you don't know what that is google it.
Feds Would Govern Health Insurance Rates Under Feinstein Bill (Politics Daily)
Apr 21st 2010 6:11AM Ok you lying piece of cr@p. Start naming these 70 new government agencies. And while you are at it tell me the location of them in the healthcare bill so I can read them. Csn't name them or locate them? I didn't think so. Just another lying idiot full of cr@p.
Oh...and since you also probably claim to be a christian....the commandment against lying, its one of the biggies. I don't think god will accept your excuse that you were just saying what Rush told you or that you were lying to make the President look bad. I didn't see any exceptions to that commandment...stupidity doesn't count either.
5 details wireless companies don't want you to know when choosing a plan (WalletPop)
Apr 15th 2010 12:18PM Cricket....the only way to go. And no I'm not selling anything like half these people seem to be. Plans for unlimited talk start at $30/month I think. I pay $45 and that includes unlimited talk, text, photos, web, extended coverage, and 411 calls. The only thing that gets added on your bill is a $1 fee and sales tax. I had Sprint for years and they kept costing more and more. The add on fees were ridiculous. I also have unlimited wireless internet with them for $30/month. Everything together is half what I was paying Sprint for phone and internet. And I didn't have text, web, photos or any extras with Sprint...just voice. Sprint also charged $1.50 for every 411 call. Cricket....check them out.
Army to Court Martial Officer Who Doubts Obama Was Born in U.S. (Politics Daily)
Apr 15th 2010 12:35AM I have posted the link before to the law that qualifies who is a natural born citizen with the right to be President. Unfortunately it doesn't matter to the wingnuts and birthers. The law says that anyone with at least one parent that is a US citizen is a natural born citizen with all the rights thereof, regardless of WHERE they are born. This is the same law that made McCain elligible to be President. To put it in simple terms for the birthers and the other mentally challenged, this means it doesn't matter if Obama was born in Hawaii, Kenya, or on the Moon. Because his mother was a US citizen he is by law a natural born US citizen with all the rights thereof....including the right to be President.
This soldier should be court martialed and subjected to the maximum penalty.
Alex Chilton Delayed Medical Treatment Due to Lack of Health Insurance (Spinner)
Apr 14th 2010 1:25PM I never had the pleasure of meeting Alex, but I count another member of the Boxtops as a friend. I see people commenting about Alex not spending the money on insurance. People thinking because they had a few hits back in the 60s they had money. Record companies were notorious for ripping off artists then as now. A new artist can have a number one hit and be in debt to the record company. They charge everything back to the artist....studio time, promotion, production, EVERYTHING. Being a musician is a hard way to make a living. You can be respected and professionally successful and still be on the edge of being homeless. For most musicians the money comes in spurts(much like construction workers). One week or month you make good money, the next month even with budgeting you are wondering how you will pay your rent and eat. This makes it extremely hard to budget and pay for insurance. If by chance you have an existing condition it makes it nearly impossible. Something more needs to be done about healthcare.
Alex just wanted to be free to play his music.
RIP and thank you for the music. It ended too soon.
