Why I Decided Against a Third Nose Job (MyDaily)
Jan 4th 2011 6:59PM Oh Flappy is trying to be ethnic. That would be a poor attempt at "Ebonic's." I assume that was meant to cause this thread to go in an entirely different direction. Ignorance....
Leigh Anne Tuohy, Mom Who Inspired 'The Blind Side,' Talks Parenting (ParentDish)
Jul 19th 2010 1:51AM I loved the movie. I know some of it was ebellished the way that Hollywood does. I love the story of the "Blind Side" in general though. I was a little off put by the implication that it is African-American's that she has had to "correct."
We cannot escape the race issue. Though it is only an issue because we make it one. Even in our news casts there are always these statistics that break down according to race, which only serves to reinforce social biases.
The reality is that people of similar economic backgrounds and educational levels act similarly. When race is used as an indicator it is almost always comparing middle and upper class whites to poor urban African Americans/Hispanics, that is apples and oranges. Comparing middle class people of any ethnicity would net the same results (far less dramatic).
I lived in a small almost 100% white and poor town in Ohio, surprisingly it was a college town (that is why I was there). Poverty, dirt, and ignorance reigned surpreme. The children of those white people were often yanked, hit, and cursed out in public. Actually I just saw it in my current wealthy white neighborhood at the pool. America is not the urbane place it presents to the world. All white people aren't the well heeled who populate wealthy suburbs of metropolitan areas. The U.S. is mostly those little poor dusty towns full of anger, crystal meth, welfare, and teenage pregnancy. Poor uneducated people aren't well versed in the latest acceptable parenting style no matter what their ethnicity.
Ageless Stars: Did You Know They Were That Old? (PopEater)
Nov 14th 2009 5:42PM Why would you assume ANYONE would rather be white? Contrary to what you may have been told or believe (based on nothing), I guarantee most non-white people aren't pining away wishing to be white. That is obscene and hilarious.
Sometimes people of darker ethnicities age well and sometimes they DO NOT. Sometimes some white people do not age well and sometimes the DO! It has more to do with genetics and taking care of yourself.
Mel Gibson's Girlfriend Gives Birth (PopEater)
Nov 1st 2009 5:38PM Now come on guys that girl child isn't ugly. She is too young and looks like she is walking with her grandfather, but she is pretty.
It is unfortunate that he pumped his first wife full of babies, spoke of how important his faith is (I am sure he taught this to his first set of children). Then just walks away to start a family with someone who could be his daughter/granddaughter. Do people not realize they aren't immortal? What is the benefit of becoming a parent at 53? How much time will he have for this kid? How involved is he going to be with his 17 year old teenager when he is about 71?
Book About Gay Penguins Is Most Banned of the Year (Asylum)
Oct 4th 2009 5:59PM I resent the accusation that Christians are stupid. What makes you think it is just Christians that object to this book being on the reading list for their children? There are other religions that would object and there are those who aren't religious at all who object. It is pushing an adgenda. It is BASED on a true story (which was in the news) but doesn't tell the whole story.
Secondly I REALLY REALLY resent the implication that anyone who doesn't drink the Conservative KOOL-AID is a Liberal and not a Christian. That is what makes people call us stupid! I am a Christian who drinks the KOOL-AID of neither side. There are more than two sides to any issue and stop trying to put people in a box. That is what is actually ignorant and naive.
Woman Terminates Adoption Because She Can't Bond With The Child (ParentDish)
Oct 1st 2009 3:46PM The problem is she bought into the fanatasy of add family and love equals perfect adoptee. Adoption is a serious deal. Whenever you add people to your home that aren't biological members there are unexpected issues (true of marriage, step parenting etc). Children who are up for adoption could have several unknown issues. A baby left on the side of the road is unlikely to have received proper or adequate prenatal care. And certainly couldn't have received adequate post natal care. Could have been a drug baby (a host of problems within itself). I could go on forever.
A dose of reality to should be injected to any adoption scenario. Maybe she didn't adequately research it. Or like anything else couldn't have possibly known until she was in it. I don't know if she was right or wrong. Either way it had to be a difficult situation. But several people brought up a good point. Better now than later.
Curtis: Monroe Miscarried My Child (PopEater)
Sep 28th 2009 8:09PM Seriously? Why do we need to know this? Any child they had would be way past middle aged. Lets face it there was no DNA test back then they couldn't prove whos child it was even if it was born. I am so bored! Agree with the one person who said tell the stories about your gay relationships. Spill some of your secrets. Even after all of these years a woman is the one that looks bad if someone say she was married but carrying his baby.
Michelle Duggar Chats About Morning Sickness And Her In-House Organizer (ParentDish)
Sep 2nd 2009 2:16PM Sure it is there decision, no matter how irresponsible. But who is going to be mama to all of those kids if she doesn't make it through another birth or both of them pass away (GOD FORBID!)? Is it fair to keep popping them out and possible separate them because NOBODY wants to take on that many kids?
Buzz Exclusive: Usher Divorce from Tameka Foster Finalized (BV Buzz)
Aug 26th 2009 11:07PM The need for a pre-nup would be all but gone if men would stop marrying women looking for a payday. A woman with an appreciation for the work it takes to make that money will definitely respect it. And she will desire to protect that which fills your pockets rather than try to empty them. Listen to Bey's upgrade you! Unequally yoked is more than just about religion it is also education, morals, intelligence, financial (or potential) etc. I don't know them but a woman with children from previous "relationships", already older, but willing to pop out two more for the pop star is guilty of looking like a gold digger. Mama does know best!
Steve McNair Allegedly Had 6-Year Affair With Exotic Dancer (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
Jul 11th 2009 2:32AM This is not news. If everyone who had an affair died as a result there would be a significant drop in the worlds population. However, he did not deserve to die. It is unfortunate that someone didn't get this young girl help before she injured herself and another human.
Women need to be more responsible. They are half of the equation in heterosexual infidelity. Knowing someone is married and convincing yourself that some how you are better or more deserving of the affections of this cheating man makes you a fool! Soon after you get him you will be in the same position as the "boring wife."
