Cute Baby Otter {AOL Video Blog}
Aug 23rd 2007 10:25AM Why isn't he with his mother? He sure is cute but all babies are no matter the species. That's nature's way of ensuring survival. I hope they will be teaching him the things he'll need to survive and releasing him when he's old enough. He belongs in the wild, free. Not in a "cell" at a zoo.
Knut Gets Put on a Diet {AOL Video Blog}
Aug 8th 2007 5:16PM It's not bad enough that the poor bear has to live in "prison", solitary confinement, without his own kind around him, but now he has to diet!?! Is there no justice. If I had ahead of me the life he does, I'd want to go young and quickly. FREE KNUT!!!!

Things to consider when getting a family dog {ParentDish}
Jul 18th 2007 1:22PM I can't believe that you would even consider a pet from a pet store. They all come from puppy mills which are just a step above cattle or chicken farms! The "parents" of a puppy bought at a pet store are kept in a cage all of their lives and are "used" just for breeding purposes. They very rarely see a vet or get to play and they usually look like crap, because they aren't taken care of. The best place to go on the cheaper side is a shelter or local litters (neighbors, and such) and the best place to get a pure bred dog is not from breeders but from people who show their dogs and mate them for the next generation of show dogs for themselves. There are always more pups than they want to keep, but these tend to be very pricey because they are certified to be free of genetic defects and they are usually of outstanding bloodlines. Personally, I prefer mixed breeds. They are healthier than pure breds and usually have better dispositions.
