'Queen of Versailles': Tale of Mega-Mansion Headed for TV (AOL Real Estate)

May 5th 2012 11:35PM Geez...buddy...give it up, will ya' Nobody wants to hear someone griping about the 1% when the group you represent are, by and large, created and led by anarchists and idiots who don't have jobs.

To most of us the 1% are as ethereal as a wisp of smoke. To most of us you Occupy folks have about as much sense as a wisp of smoke.

Out-of-Towners Covet Florida Real Estate, Locals Scratch Heads (AOL Real Estate)

Feb 4th 2012 4:51PM I owned a regular, normal sized lot in a development outside of Ft Myers, Fl. There were years and years when I would try to sell the lot for $1,000. Real estate agents wanted a $750 fee UPFRONT to list the property. I once tried to give it to an old girlfriend and she could do with it whatever she wanted.

Then, I got an offer in the mail wanting to buy the property for $2K. I didn't need the money and I forgot about it. A few days/weeks later the offers started to roll in. In April, 2004, I signed a contract for $5000 to be closed within 30 days. He didn't even put up the escrow deposit. (The buyer lived in New Jersey and already owned a double digit number of properties in the same area.

Then before the ink was dry on the $5K contract some really yankee-sounding guy called me up and offered me $8K. When told that there was an existing contract he TOLD ME that his final offer was $8,500.

Two weeks later his final offer was up to $15K.

Make a long story short: I sold the property less than 6 months after the bidding war started for $47,000.

Then the bottom fell out and the poor woman (real estate investor/agent) got stuck with a piece of property she still hasn't sold.

Should You Give Up Alcohol When You Hit 45? (That's Fit)

Jun 26th 2011 12:17AM When is it time to quit drinking? Well, at 24 I drank myself out of a family. At 34, I almost drank myself out of another family. At 44, it was time to slow down. By 54, I had my last drink during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. At 64, I had to walk into an intensive care room where I looked down at a precious, beautiful 24 year old young child who had just gotten her Masters Degree as I tried to get my mind around the phrases: lacerated spleen.... lacerated liver... bleeding in her brain... placed on a ventilator and "non-responsive."

Tell me again, how much fun it is to drink?

Sandra Bernhard Takes a Shot at Kathy Griffin and Talks Arnold Encounter (PopEater)

May 27th 2011 9:13PM Arnold hit on Sarah in the 70's and that is somehow relevant to Arnold/Maria who didn't get married until the mid-80's. I'm sure he hit on lots of women in the 70's. Why should he be different than 88% of the men in the world?

Bailing on Oprah Will Dog Michael Vick (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)

Feb 19th 2011 12:54AM Vick is a football player. The folks he needs to keep happy are men and football fans. How many football fans watch Oprah? Maybe Oprah should use this incident as a gut check to see if she has lost a step or two.

Kathy Griffin's Newest Palin to Pounce On? Willow, 16 (PopEater)

Jan 5th 2011 12:17PM How many of you remember the Jerry Seinfeld show where Griffin continued to attack Jerry using his own words twisted into her hormonally-enraged interpretations.

Well, that is Kathy Griffin...she has no act and she is on the politically correct side of the aisle in that she can browbeat her opponent but her opponent cannot respond.

The kid is 16 y/o for petes sakes... Can't Griffin find one joke about belittling Obama or Bill Clinton.... Pelosi is a veritable smorgasbord of jokes waiting to be delivered.

BTW, the "spokesperson" or "friend" is putting out the word to Palin, "Get off the stage and I'll leave you alone..." Isn't that elevating Griffin to being the one person in the whole country to direct the entire political discourse by use of threats and intimidation?

But that's the liberal way....

Blonde in Lingerie and Wheelchair Gets Extensive TSA Pat Down in Oklahoma (AOL Travel News)

Dec 2nd 2010 10:41PM I think the moral of this story is that if you try to piss on the TSA by a stupid trick, you can expect that they will piss on you. So, in the future, I'd suggest that you not try to embarass them or pull some publicity stunt to get attention.

Jim Carrey Thinks 'Three Stooges' Movie Is Dead (Moviefone Blog)

Nov 12th 2010 10:21AM waagd said: "but sean penn is a bad guy because he thinks other people should care about what he cares about?"

Do you have the same warm fuzzy feelings for...oh... let's say, Republicans who don't share your views?

Airline Loses Gucci Bag Worth 50K (AOL Travel News)

Sep 25th 2010 9:27PM If the Congressmen were angry about Colbert testifying to some committee hearing, why are we supposed to give any more credibility to Gucci testifying about counterfeit goods. All he's got to say is that those folks who make a $25 knockoff of his $1000 purse are thieves. My question is simple: Who is the thief?
