President Obama thinks 'Austrian' is a language? (Gadling)

Apr 8th 2009 10:09PM The only language that German's speak is a dialect.
If you learned what is called 'high German' in school, then you can talk to anyone else who can speak high German.
Other than that, each neighborhood has a dialect. This dialect is not high German, it is a different sort of slang, we would call it here, that you learn from your mama and dad while you are growing up. It is your first language if you are a German.
So, making a statement about one of the dialects, calling the type of German spoken in Austria, it isn't even a mistake...
I don't get it. Why the fuss?

Hot Seat: McCain the POW (Politics Daily)

Aug 25th 2008 6:23PM I've said Obama was using Viet Nam exactly as Guliani was using 9/11 to run on. Why do these men think that because there are awful people and events on our planet they should be used for political gain. What does that say about the men who went to Nam and never returned? How much respect does Guliani show the dead from 9/11 using them for political gain? Poor showing, illmannered of Obama and of McCain, who, if you haven't heard yet, would not let 'his' state, Arizona, celebrate Martin Luther King day, for 25 years.

Obama as Millstone, Part II (Politics Daily)

Apr 28th 2008 8:53PM We have another bush in barak, you are saying, that he won't be able to lead the country or speak to it without a script? So he's as lead headed as McCain??
Whatever.
I'm voting for Hillary, and so are my sons.

AOL Straw Poll: March 3-10 (Politics Daily)

Mar 12th 2008 5:34PM How nice to finally see comments that go beyond, we love Obama, we want 'change'. How electing a woman president is NOT change, I can't figure out.
Ferraro has an excellent track record, she is not racist, this is a different election, a black man and a white woman both running for the same position has not happened here before. Why is it the news can talk, 'white men' voters, but not 'black men' voters? Why is this issue still one this country cannot debate without cries of racist being called out? Would be as foolish if Dems were saying you are sexist if you don't vote for Hillary. I've been waiting a long time to hear this brought up. Women had less rights than african americans after the civil war. Why is this not an issue?

Obama More Likely to Beat McCain (News Bloggers)

Feb 2nd 2008 9:25PM We got a person who has 8 years of experience in the white house. Who has time as a senator. A woman, in fact, who has always been involved in politics. Since the 60's.
On the other hand we have a man, who spent years in a POW camp, came home and had no, none, not one minute of therapy for dealing with how one comes out of the Captor/Victim situation. This is serious stuff. Enough to drive anyone insane. Now what does that word rhyme with?

Baby Monitor Makes Extraterrestrial Contact (Switched)

Aug 27th 2007 8:36PM Hello.. Steve, you know a lot about this stuff. I take care of mom, she's round the clock work. I use a baby monitor that I know the ham operator next door is listening in on just for the fun of it. I like my privacy better than that, is there anything you know of that I could do to stop her?? Thanks for listening, Ragsie

Fox News Smears Mr. Rogers (News Bloggers)

Jul 9th 2007 9:01PM I wake up to some foolishness every morning, but Fox TV slandering Mr. Rogers for giving children a meaningful half hour a day to watch. I agree, this man's military record makes this an almost treasonous attack. But does anyone remember Mr. Rogers started making shows for kids at a time in America when Mommies and Daddies were both gone all day at work, when there was not enough money to hire a babysitter, no matter what the law called for. Making every home a 2 income home was what was important, so that taxes could be collected twice from each American family. Now, this man, the voice who called to each child, saying, You are special to me, you are part of my life, hurt these children? These tossed aside humans who's growth or identity was irrevelant to a government intent on gathering 2 incomes where previously there had only been one took the parents out of the home, where previously a Mom and a Dad had been the one there for the children to talk to? And Fox has the nerve to say this man did not fill a hole in children during these days? And, again, wait until he is dead to twist his words, the words that kept children from thinking there was no one in the world who was there for them? Shame, shame on Fox, once again.

The 20 Biggest Movies This Summer (Cinematical)

May 27th 2007 8:31PM I thought Pirates 3 was great. Here, we are gonna watch the first 2 on consecutive days and then go back to number 3. I think more things will 'come together' so to speak. Calypso was wonderful. How great they keep using these legends of the sea. And now, Will is one of them. Love anything with Johnny, this was good fun.

The 25 Most Exquisitely Sad Songs in the Whole World: No. 3 (Spinner)

May 16th 2007 3:32AM Where is Dionne Warwick's 'Walk on By'?? If this is the saddest songs in the whole world, why isn't this song on it? And you know what's a really sad song? "Fire and Rain", after that person who was always there for you, is dead.

Eureka: Right as Raynes (AOL TV)

Sep 6th 2006 7:44PM Stark gets to be a nice guy????? Hmmmm. That was interesting! The fence was great, Henry putting out the fire, this is Eureka. Henry fixing the stop light, this is Eureka. Funny thing is, have any of you ever been to Eureka? Eaten in Eureka? The high school episode, anyone notice, those are Eureka High School colors? Fun stuff. Love this series.
