Legendary Actress Elizabeth Taylor Dies at Age 79 (PopEater)

Mar 25th 2011 6:32AM RIP, Elizabeth. Missing you already. Thanks for the memories during the filming of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and years later. I know how you hated to be called Liz. Even Richard called you Elizabeth. You were one very special lady!!!! God bless you and thank you for all of your goodness.

Try This: How Do You Handle Allowance? Is It Tied to Chores? (ParentDish)

Mar 9th 2011 7:44AM I grew up in the 1950s. My first allowance was 10 cents a week, then it went up to 20 cents a week. And yes, that included doing chores. For extra money, I would shovel the neighbors' sidewalks and driveways for 20 cents. One time a neighbor gave me 25 cents, and thought I was rich!! I was a major movie lover, so used 9 cents out of the 10 cents to go to the local theater (9 cents for kids). With the penny left over, I would put it toward buying a box of popcorn which I would buy in about 4 weeks...when popcorn was 5 cents a box. It really taught me the value of money and how important it was to save money. From the day I can remember, my mom would often say, "Be sure to save for your retirement. Every penny adds up." She was right... Now most of the kids get away without doing any chores and yet get a substantial allowance. By the way, I did end up working in the movie industry in L.A. for 25 years, so saving my pennies for the movies really did pay off. lol

Giuliana Rancic's Red Carpet Snacks (That's Fit)

Feb 26th 2011 1:16PM Giuliana needs to put on some weight and eat healthy for the baby. Remember...the photo of her above was taken straight-on (which adds weight), which means she probably looks 10 lbs. lighter in person. Just being on TV or in a film adds a good 10 lbs. Rather see a healthy-looking Giuliana than one who is too thin. Am hoping that young kids are reading this article because they see enough written material promoting THIN THIN THIN. We don't need anymore young people becoming anorexic or bulemic. It's difficult enough for those who are compulsive overeaters. Food is one of the most difficult addictions because you can't give it up. You have to eat to live.

Feb 24th 2011 2:42PM Unfortunately, all the GREAT TV entertainers/talk show hosts are gone...Johnny Carson, Red Skelton, Merv Griffin, and Jackie Gleason for examples. Those are the days when entertainers of ALL ages were respected and the industry wasn't run by the very young as it is today. We need to get TV and the public watching more shows that incorporate ALL ages...5 to 95. That's what you saw in the great films...ALL ages...in the days when you couldn't count too many who weren't good at their vocation. Nowadays, we're lucky to have up to 20 good actors. Too bad we couldn't bring back those wonderful days of the people mentioned above. ALL ages watched those shows and loved every moment of them. I worked in the film industry for 25 years in L.A. and saw the transition from what WAS and what IS today. What WAS is far better in many areas. There is some good today, but not enough. Okay, now you can rate me a NEGATIVE remark!!

Edward Norton on Robert DeNiro: "He's Not Intimidating. He's Weird." (VIDEO) (AOL TV)

Sep 25th 2010 9:05AM JASON HUGHES, the writer of this article about actor Robert De Niro, didn't even know how to spell Mr. De Niro's name correctly. It's NOT DeNiro (as Hughes spelled it). It's De Niro (a space between the small "e" and capital "N"). Geesh... Never saw so many errors in published works (newspapers, books...even textbooks!!) as I've seen since the 1990s. There should be NO excuse for this.

Awkward Emmy Moments: Kyra Sedgwick's Handoff, Al Pacino's Speech and More (VIDEO) (AOL TV)

Patrick Swayze's Widow Opens Up About His Alcoholism, Her Grief (PopEater)

Apr 10th 2010 10:54AM I remember when Patrick was doing "Love Letters" at a theater on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. One day, during a break, he stepped outside for a cigarette. I took some pics. A few moments later, someone tapped me on the shoulder. It was Patrick... He asked if I was going to sell these pics. I said no because he was smoking. He was sooo happy to hear that because he didn't want children to see him smoking. After that day, every time I saw him he would always acknowledge me and stop for a quick chat. At first I couldn't believe that he actually remembered me...but he did. He was always so very kind and down to earth. Loved that about him. RIP, Mr. Swayze...and thanks for the memories.
