iPhone Price Drop Turns Early Adopters Into Crybabies (Switched)

Sep 7th 2007 5:06PM Early adopters always pay more. Look at the prices on LCD and plasma televisions. I got a good deal on a 32 inch LCD in December for $450, and I don't even want to know what they are today. I shudder to think of what I paid for my first computer back in 1994. As for ATT/Cingular, I have been a customer since 1995, have service where Verizon people can't even connect, and have never had a problem with dropped calls.

Not-So-Earth-Friendly Tech (7) (Switched)

Apr 19th 2007 7:46AM Maybe even more critical is the amount of energy used by all our "instant on" apppliances, such as televisions, when they are turned "off", because they never really go off. They draw current all the time so they can instantly come on. Most people don't know this, and those that do don't usually unplug these appliances to save energy because then they lose their memorized settings. Perhaps some of these items could have small batteries that made it possible to retain the memory, so they could be truly turned "off".

Apr 19th 2007 7:40AM I am sure making ipods takes some energy, but consider how many cds will never have to be made because of people downloading songs to those ipods. This should give apple some credit!

Commander: Jeep's white elephant? (Autoblog)

Apr 2nd 2006 8:52PM The comments about the third seatin the Commander are correct- too small. If you really need an SUV with a third seat, the newer Durangos with the split folding third seat will actually hold an adult. I don't understand why car companies have to try to duplicate every model in every brand.

Chrysler extends 0% financing a little longer (Autoblog)

Mar 2nd 2006 7:45PM After a run of GM and foreign cars, our last three personal vehicles have been Chrysler products- a 300M and two Durangos. No problems of any kind with these vehicles, very comfortable to drive and ride in. I'd buy another.
