Sorry, John McCain -- iPads Aren't Built in the Good Ol' USA

John McCainSen. John McCain made a bit of a boo boo the other day on ABC's 'This Week.' Remarking on recent comments made by President Obama that America needs to increase its exports, McCain cited Apple as a good example American manufacturing. "[If] you emptied that house there... if you left a computer there, or an iPad, or an iPhone, those are built in the United States of America," he told host Christiane Amanpour. McCain took some criticism for his comment, since Apple product are actually built in China, at Foxconn's notorious Shenzhen plant.

McCain is now gearing up for a fundraising trip to Silicon Valley at the end of the month. We suggest the senator brush up on his tech company knowledge before heading off to sunny California. He may be forgiven for "misspeaking" (as McCain claims he did) this time, but the press will likely be less generous if he makes the same blunder in Apple's own backyard. Check out the interview after the break.
