Groupon's
infamous Super Bowl commercials caused quite a stir last month, and the company was eventually shamed into
issuing an apology. But Robert Thurman, Tibetan Buddhist scholar and father of actress Uma, says he didn't have a problem with the Groupon spot that satirized pro-Tibet activism. "That was great -- I loved that," Thurman told the New York Observer. "Some people in the Tibetan movement who were more P.C. or pious thought it was being trivialized." Instead, Thurman interpreted the ad as "
an ironic, self-deprecatory thing," adding, "It was foolish of a few P.C. hothead Tibetophiles to get upset about it."

At least someone likes it! Most people were offended by the commercials aired during the Super Bowl, and I think that led a lot of people to check out other daily deal sites instead of Groupon.
Another great site you can use to find deals is http://www.dailydealpool.com. This site compiles a list of the best deals in your area, emailing them to your inbox daily. This means you won't miss out on a great buy, and you'll be aware of great local businesses!
