Amazon has
decided to shut down AmazonTote, a FreshDirect-like program that
allowed Seattle customers to order certain products online, and have them delivered to their homes for free. Amazon announced the termination in a
letter to its customers, noting that the service will come to an official close at 6:00 p.m. PST on March 3rd. The company was quick to point out, however, that users can still place orders on
AmazonFresh, which offers over 40,000 products for same-day or next-day delivery.
