A Pennsylvania teacher has proven that educators aren't so different (or more mature) than
their supposedly petulant pupils. Thirty-year-old Natalie Munroe has reportedly been suspended with pay, and could possibly be terminated from Central Bucks East High School, because of
repeated blog posts that labeled her students as "lazy whiners" and "disrespectful oafs." She also posted a "pithy joke," saying that a few harsh assessments, such as "simpering grade grubber with an unrealistically high perception of own ability level," should be standardized report card comments.
Munroe issued perhaps the most interesting statements
outside of her blog, though. She apparently told the Bucks County Courier Times that upset students "have a problem within themselves," and that parents, students and school systems "take teachers who enter the education field full of life and hope and a desire to change the world and positively impact kids, and beat the life out of them and villainize [Umm, "vilify," maybe?] them and blame them for everything." So, she was excited about a job and then grew disillusioned? Wah. It seems like someone needs a lesson in hubris and hypocrisy.

This person has no business teaching children and should be fired. But I'm sure she can hide behind a union.
A prime example of why unions are destroying our education system.

@High Climber While I agree that this woman should have her teaching career re-evaluated, please don't use these forums as a place to vent about all of your perceived political injustices. Thanks

re: High Climber,
You are either a parent of the minority of students who ruin the classroom for other students or a disgruntled administrator too afraid of parents to really look at the classroom.
She is referring to the 20% of moronic progeny who grace today's classroom with the persona of either a squeaky wheel enabled defect or an egoistic entitled punk -- both of which have no regard for the other human learning time. You are naive to believe that all kids are good ... 20% are serious jerks being raised by a generation of older serious jerks - those who: indulge, ignore, or abuse.Parents are a child's first teacher. Children (birth to 18) need to abide by given rules of society, if those who choose to procreate are not doing their job -- one should not condemn when a constant integral socialization guardian does their job or chooses to vent!
The people who should be up in arms are those whose children are being cheated of their education by the behavioral disruption of the afore mentioned 20%. These people should be demanding that schools NOT be closed rather that they should be where the 20% can be educated.
I won't even go there with you biased opinion of unions, I'd have to profile you -- again.

@Greuta Dacono
While I will agree that there are bad apples in the barrel that make teachers jobs difficult, her language in the posts were inexcusable. She is acting just as childish and immature as the kids she accuses. She obviously can't handle children and should look for a new line of work.

Suspended with pay... Sounds like a paid period of time to explore job options.
