The hacktivists over at Anonymous are at it again
. After bringing down opponents of WikiLeaks
, and recently taking on Tunisia and Egypt
, the loosely organized group of politically motivated hackers that hang out on 4Chan
has now set its sights on the Yemeni government. In anticipation of yesterday's "Day of Rage" in Yemen, the collective took down the sites for the Yemeni Ministry of Information and for President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Despite the country's population having an extremely low rate of Internet access, Anonymous couldn't help but throw its support behind a popular uprising with its go-to tactic: DDoS attacks.
