According to The Wall Street Journal, mobile and SMS service appears to be down in Egypt, along with the country's Internet connections. The U.K.-based Vodafone Group PLC (VOD) wrote in a statement that all of the mobile operators in Egypt had been "instructed to suspend services in parts of Egypt. Under Egyptian legislation, the authorities have the right to issue such an order and we are obliged to comply with it." Vodafone Egypt services the largest number of customers in the country. Landline calls from outside of Egypt are apparently still connecting.
