Nintendo 3DS Coming March 27th for $249.99
Having slowly teased its glasses-free 3-D handheld since last year's E3, Nintendo finally got serious about the 3DS this morning in New York. The 3-D and touchscreen-enabled gaming device will launch on March 27th for $249.99 in aqua blue or obsidian black, packs Wi-Fi functionality, and comes with a 3-D slider to manually adjust the 3-D effect. The 30+ launch titles are largely trusted, long-running franchises. Nintendo CEO detailed company classics like 'Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D,' 'Pilotwings' and 'Kid Icarus Uprising,' and introduced the third-party games 'Dead or Alive Dimensions,' 'Super Street Fighter IV ED' and 'Madden NFL.'
The Wii's Miis are here in full force, and the included Mii Maker app uses the 3DS's dual cameras to make you into a 3-D avatar. Nintendo also promises an improved multiplayer experience with easier-to-use friend codes. Additionally, the new Virtual Console e-shop opens up the system to old Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles, meaning you'll be able to purchase and play '90s classics like 'Super Mario Land' and 'Donkey Kong.'
