Winona Ryder Doesn't Go Online for Fear of Joining Al-Qaeda

Unhinged may not be the right word, but, when actress Winona Ryder told Jimmy Fallon last night that she doesn't own a computer, she certainly seemed slightly manic. True, as a seven-year old, the actress lived on a commune with no electricity, but her previously noted aversion to the Internet doesn't seem to be rooted in any sort of Ludditism; she has an iPhone that is currently baffling her. But Winona, no stranger to bad choices, worries that, if she ever got online, she'd be googling along, and accidentally join Al-Qaeda. (You know, the "Google Search" button is inconveniently located directly next to the "Join Violent Religious Movement" button.)

Ryder's point, we guess, is that in a world where everything is linked and automated, it may be simple to get in over your head with a few wrong turns. And, perhaps, for adrenaline junkies like Winona, that may be a real threat. But, when you look deep into those wild eyes, you can't help but think: maybe it is best that someone keeps her unplugged.
