Yoko Ono: John Lennon Would Have Loved the Internet, Twitter
What would John Lennon have thought of this thing called the Internet, were he still alive today? Would he dismiss Facebook as a superficial distraction from art and activism, or decree that we should give tweets a chance? It's been just over 30 years since Lennon died, and perhaps the only person who could answer those questions is his exquisitely vocal widow. In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Yoko Ono said, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! OH OW OH AHHHHHH!"No, she didn't. But she did say that John would be microblogging and socially networking all the time, in order to spread his message of love. "If John were around today he'd love Facebook," Ono said. "He would love the way the world has changed. He'd love the Internet and Twitter. He'd be sending out pronouncements and messages and giving his opinion all the time on everything. He would be 70 years old, but he'd want to know everything that's going on. We share that curiosity and that energy. At 77, I can't stop."
She also reiterated that she did not break up The Beatles ("I was blamed for ruining John and I was painted as a dragon,"), and noted that she loves Lady Gaga's derrière. "She performed with me on stage wearing a see-through lace catsuit and people thought it was an insult because you could see her bottom. I'm the lady who did an exhibition of bottoms. How could hers offend me? She has a very lovely bottom. I think she's wonderful." She said John would've loved her, too.
