When he wasn't playing shows on a recent American tour, Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn
was using an iPad to record the band's latest album, 'The Fall.' To create the record, Albarn used about 20 different iPad apps, including: 'Speak It!,' 'SoundyThingie,' 'Mugician,' 'Solo Synth,' 'Funkbox,' 'Xenon,' 'Harmonizer,' 'BassLine' and more,
according to TIME's Techland. Using the iPad, it took Albarn just one month to finish the cel-shaded band's new album, which, naturally, will be given away for free online. 'The Fall,' which also features former Clash members Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, is
streaming on the Gorillaz website, complete with liner notes telling where each song was recorded. Fan club members, meanwhile, can snag a free download. Albarn told the Guardian that it was important to quickly release the album online, so that nobody could claim he'd used recording equipment other than an iPad to alter any of the songs.
After a quick listen, the album's sound impresses -- even if Gorillaz isn't your writer's thing. It'd be tough for the average fan to discern whether these songs were recorded on an iPad in a hotel room or with professional gear at a studio.

Yeah if you can't tell this wasn't a studio album you really don't know much about music. Its obvious it isn't due to its very basic and well limited sound options. We all like free but thats all its worth hopefully they make a real album too.
