Ah, Finally. Kinect Porn Has Arrived, Thanks to ThriXXX

So developer ThriXXX, which specializes in 3-D pornography, has successfully done it. Using Kinect's open-source drivers, the company (whose other titles include '3D Sex Villa and 'Gamerotica') now lets gamers interact with a girl on-screen using nothing other than their hands. On-screen girls (no guys yet) react to touch and gestures, a bit like an X-rated Kinectimals. A rather graphic, certainly NSFW demonstration can be seen on ThriXXX's website; YouTube obviously took it down.
While this may mark a change in the way we enjoy adult content, Cnet has pointed out that porn's introduction of Kinect may also mark a shift in open-source video gaming. Brad Abram, ThriXXX's VP of business development, isn't deluding himself. He tells Cnet,"We do not have permission from anyone on any of this stuff, and have been using stuff from the hacker community to do a working prototype." The rampant uses of Kinect in the hacker community have never been commercial enterprises, so Abram is a bit flummoxed. "We have no idea how [Microsoft] will react," he says, but then adds, "We think the genie is out of the bottle, so to speak." With open-source options like OpenNI hitting the market, individuals can use Kinect tech for their own needs, as profitable (or carnal) as they may be.
