A Couple Things We've Noticed About Girl Talk's Newest, 'All Day'

Today, a small Internet extravaganza occurred with the release of 'All Day,' the third album from Girl Talk, a.k.a Greg Gillis. If you've been living under an Internet rock, Gillis is famous for mashing-up songs, pairing classic rock jams with new hip-hop acappellas, or reminding pop music junkies of forgotten hits. Adrenaline-fueled and famous for raucous live shows, Girl Talk doesn't skimp on the newest one, which has all of the bump of his previous offerings. (Well, it's missing a bit of the cleverness, but we'll let that slide.) The release, which is free and can be found at his label Illegal Art, crashed the site because of the online frenzy. We grabbed it, gave it a listen, and had a couple things we'd like to point out:

Number of times Lady Gaga is featured: 2
Number of times Jay-Z is featured: 5
Number of times Bananarama is featured: 1
Number of times Michael Jackson is featured: 2 (one, with the Jackson 5, which we believe was used in an earlier album). Given the fact that MJ was alive when Girl Talk released his last album, we were hoping to see more of the King of Pop on All Day.
Songs (instrumentals, not lyrics) we couldn't recognize: 1, in 'This Is the Remix,' which appears to be a Grateful Dead song.
Best Throwback: Either Spacehog's 'In the Meantime,' DMX's 'Lose My Mind,' or Crystal Waters' 'Gypsy Woman.' (That last one just sounds bangin'.)
Favorite mash-up: Either Portishead with Outkast, Radiohead's 'Idiotheque' and The Isley Brothers, or Gaga's 'Bad Romance' with Aphex Twin. We think Lady G would be down with that.
Most gimmicky mash-up: Rye Rye and MIA over Rage Against the Machine's 'Killing in the Name Of.' And Ludicris' 'How Low' with Phoenix's '1901' sounds like it should be a car commercial. (Is it?) Or the dreamy, pseudo-reflective choice of ending on John Lennon's 'Imagine.'
On a scale of one-to-ten, the amount we are already sick of Willow Smith: 11
