Get Out the Vote with Foursquare's iVOTED Badge

Foursquare Elections Page
Fellow patriots, today is that hallowed November day to which we look forward with hope, optimism and just a dash of disgust: election time! In response to this election cycle's theatrics, mudslinging and endless reminders to vote (even from us here at Switched), Foursquare is getting in on the electoral action with a limited-edition iVOTED badge. Earning it is stupidly simple; just head down to your local polling place, cast your ballot, and check into Foursquare (with the hashtag #ivoted) while you're there. Sure, you could just check in from the area without actually voting, but that would be disregarding your civic duty -- and you wouldn't do that, now would you?

When you're all done, log onto the Foursquare elections site to see check-ins from around the country. You can see the total number of updates with the #ivoted tag, the percentage of men versus women checking in, and where the most Foursqare users happen to be casting their ballots. But don't get distracted. Remember that the most important thing -- and we're dead serious about this -- is that you vote. Checking into Foursquare is pretty much inconsequential, but participating in an election is anything but. VOTE!
