Tiny Robocop and Lil' Jawa Halloween Costumes Melt Our Cold Nerd Hearts

One of the benefits of being a parent is being able to channel your inner geek into your child. Of course, this would normally lead to him or her being branded as "that nerd kid" for life, and being given a solid introduction to the internal structures of toilet bowls, garbage cans and lockers. But, on Halloween, you can get away with normally unacceptable levels of geekery in the name of celebrating the holiday. This leads to brilliant and adorable costumes that go well beyond your usual sexy-nurse/pirate/roadkill/Chewbacca fare.

These two stand-outs -- a tiny Robocop appropriately wandering the streets of Detroit, and a young Jawa ready to snatch up any unsuspecting 'bots roaming the remote deserts of her Canadian home -- earn our Switched seal of approval. We think, though, that the lil' Robocop just edges out the Jawa with his (parents') junk-salvaging, DIY ingenuity. Check out the brief video of the itty-bitty Jawa after the break.
