Facebook for BlackBerry Update Finally Adds Search

Facebook For BlackBerry
RIM just announced that the latest version of its Facebook for BlackBerry app (version 1.9) is now available in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. The update brings a number of new features, including a dedicated inbox for Facebook messages (if you prefer to keep them separate from your primary BlackBerry inbox) and the ability to search for users and pages. You'll be able to quickly view mutual friends, enlarge profile photos and send friend requests within the search results. These results are also integrated with BlackBerry's Universal Search tool, so Facebook results will pop up alongside contacts and other data. The app has also received a nice layer of polish in the form of redesigned Friend and Page lists (which now include profile photos) and an overhauled navigation bar.

BlackBerry owners can sign up for the beta here, but there are only a limited number of spots available. Slow Facebook fans will have to wait for the official release.
