Ah... Halloween. We embrace our spooky sides by filling our October nights with horror, donning our black capes and, of course, playing as many terrifying video games as possible. (Don't you?) While we can't deny the appeal of monster mainstays like 'Frankenstein' and 'Dracula,' our horror tastes lean towards the brain-munching variety. So join us as we indulge in our love of Halloween by blasting shambling hordes of reanimated corpses with this week's crop of zombie-themed Flash games.

If there's one thing that 'Shattered Colony: The Survivors' has taught us, it's that we're definitely not the ones who should be put in charge during a zombie apocalypse. Surviving the undead hordes in this strategic simulator requires striking a careful balance between resource management and defensive planning. Tasked with protecting a group of non-zombiefied survivors, you must gather the goods (e.g., bullets and wood) that litter each level's map. Your survivors will be in a great deal of danger as they loot crashed cars and vacant malls, which means that snipers and blockades must be placed in strategically defensive locations. Making progress through each level is an arduous task that involves endlessly plundering, bolstering your defenses and re-allocating forces as the mobs come from different sides. In the midst of all this, a timer counts down to the next wave of zombie attackers, making sure you stay on your toes before they get bitten off. If our performance in this game is any indication of our leadership skills, humanity doesn't stand a chance.
