'The Space Game' Plays a Strategic Connect-the-Dots in the Cosmos

Being a successful asteroid miner ain't easy, especially with pesky space pirates roaming the galaxy. 'The Space Game' tasks you with not only gathering resources, but also defending your fledgling mining operation. In order to harvest resources, mines must be built and then powered by a solar station. These mines provide energy for your station, but also need protection from enemy forces. If you want to win, you'll have to build a wide array of defensive structures, each tailored to keep out specific enemy units. (Basic lasers may protect against most enemy fighters, but try upgrading them to pulsars for added punch against missiles.) In the midst of juggling resource management and defensive planning, you'll have to remember that each structure must be linked up to a solar station via energy relays. Lose a relay and your entire operation grinds to a halt, so pay close attention. While graphically underwhelming, 'The Space Game' is an addictively fun combination of real-time strategy, tower defense and the amazingly childish connect-the-dots.
